THE BRET HARTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT SERVES SECONDARY STUDENTS IN
THE COMMUNITY OF HISTORIC ANGELS CAMP, HOME OF "THE CELEBRATED JUMPING FROG OF
CALAVERAS COUNTY" AND ALSO SERVES THE CORRIDOR 4 COMMUNITIES FROM COPPEROPOLIS
TO BEAR VALLEY. BRET HARTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL, ESTABLISHED IN 1905, CELEBRATED
ITS 100TH YEAR OF OPERATION IN 2005.
TWO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICTS FEED INTO THE HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT -
VALLECITO UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE MARK TWAIN UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
DISTRICT. THE DISTRICT COMMUNITY INCLUDES FOOTHILL COMMUNITIES, PRISTINE LAKE
AREAS, AND HIGH MOUNTAINS.
THE BRET HARTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDES A QUALITY EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAM FOR MORE THAN 600 STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12 AT ONE SCHOOL SITE. THE
