USING YOUR BLACK CART
When are they collected?
Black carts are picked up once every two weeks. Set your cart out by 7 a.m. on
your collection day.
Can I use extra bags?
If your cart is full, you need to buy tags to put on extra garbage bags for
pickup. Place tagged garbage bags 0.5m (2 ft) to the side of the cart.
How much can I put in the cart?
Carts hold up to 60 kg of material or four standard garbage bags.

USING YOUR GREEN CART
When are they collected?
* Green carts are picked up weekly in the spring and every other week in the
fall. They are collected on the same day as the blue cart.
* Set carts out by 7 a.m. on your collection day.
Can I use extra bags?
You can put out extra paper yard waste bags 0.5 m (2 ft) to the side of the
cart.
How much can I put in the cart?
Carts can hold 60 kg of material - paper yard waste bags have a 20 kg weight
limit.

No, extra bags are not accepted. Save items for the next week or take them to a
community recycling depot.
How do I prepare items?
Bundle plastic bags together into one plastic bag. For the rest of your items,

The temporary 'wildlife affected' area declaration in Discovery Ridge, in
accordance with Waste Bylaw 4M2020 has now ended. As a result, the special
requirements for residential waste storage and collection are no longer in
effect. We thank Discovery Ridge residents who diligently followed Bear Smart
best practices during this period. Let's continue working together to reduce the
risk of attracting wildlife into our residential areas.
