After more than two years of construction, downtown Dallas’ new JW Marriott
Hotel has opened its doors as the brand’s first in North Texas.

The 267-room, 15-story hotel is at Ross Avenue and Harwood Street across from
the Arts District. The project was developed by Plano’s Sam Moon Group.

“We are excited to bring JW Marriott’s legacy of extraordinary hospitality,
thoughtful design and enriching experiences to the Dallas Arts District,” the
hotel brand’s Bruce Rohr said in a statement. “Much like the introspective way
guests explore the hotel’s neighboring cultural institutions, JW Marriott Dallas
Arts District will provide travelers with even more ways to enjoy every moment
to the fullest and find inspiration and moments of mindfulness during their
stay.”

The luxury hotel has three restaurants, a fitness center and more than 20,000
square feet of meeting space. An upper-level swimming pool deck overlooks the
Arts District.

Dallas architect HKS designed the building and Looney & Associates did the
interiors. DPR Construction was the project general contractor.

“Our expert associates look forward with great anticipation to welcoming our
guests and surpassing their expectations for warm, inviting luxury in this
cultural hub neighborhood,” said Mike Culver, general manager.

The JW Marriott is the third North Texas hotel built by Sam Moon Group. The
company developed the almost $100 million Legacy West Renaissance Hotel in Plano
that just recently sold to Dallas and Hong Kong buyers.

Sam Moon Group also built the 303-room Hyatt Regency Stonebriar in Frisco.

A $750 million Four Seasons Hotel and condominiums is planned in a tower on
Dallas’ Turtle Creek. Crescent Hotel Fort Worth also is expected to open in
September in the city’s cultural district.
