The Edison Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to
bringing the benefits of electricity to families, businesses, and industries
worldwide. Furthering Thomas Alva Edison’s spirit of invention, the Foundation
works to encourage a greater understanding of the production, delivery, and use
of electric power to foster economic progress; to ensure a safe and clean
environment; and to improve the quality of life for all people. The Edison
Foundation provides knowledge, insight, and leadership to achieve its goals
through research, conferences, grants, and other outreach activities. The Edison
Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors of electric industry Chief
Executives.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE FOR ELECTRIC INNOVATION

IEI focuses on advancing the adoption of new technologies that improve the
customer experience by enhancing how electric companies engage with customers to
strengthen and transform the energy grid. IEI’s members are the investor-owned
electric companies that represent about 70 percent of the U.S. electric power
industry. The membership is committed to an affordable, reliable, secure, and
clean energy future.

IEI promotes the sharing of information, ideas, and experiences among
regulators, policymakers, technology companies, thought leaders, and the
electric power industry. IEI also identifies policies that support the business
case for the adoption of cost-effective technologies.

IEI is governed by a Management Committee of electric industry Chief Executive
Officers. In addition, IEI has a select group of technology companies on its
Technology Partner Roundtable.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Electric companies are leading a clean energy transition and are committed to
getting the energy they provide as clean as they can as fast as they can, while
keeping customer reliability and affordability front and center.

To achieve this goal, new clean energy technologies will be needed. The Edison
Foundation Board launched IET in 2023 to ensure that industry leaders,
regulators, policymakers, and other stakeholders, including the public, have
up-to-date information about the development of these technologies, as well as
the barriers to their deployment. Clean energy technologies that IET is focused
on include advanced renewables and nuclear energy, clean fuels like hydrogen and
ammonia, advanced and long-duration energy storage, and carbon capture and
storage.

Like IEI, IET promotes the sharing of information, ideas, and experiences among
regulators, policymakers, technology companies, thought leaders, and the
electric power industry. IET will use a variety of tools to educate stakeholders
about the pace of the clean energy transition and efforts to accelerate the
development and deployment of critical clean energy technologies.

IET is governed by and reports to the Edison Foundation Board.
