The Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship (CHES) develops educational
programs and activities to promote knowledge and understanding of the history
and legacy of the Holocaust. The Centre brings together academics, educators,
survivors, students, community members, and other appropriate partners. CHES
also forges connections with diverse audiences and offers year round programming
whose objectives include combating antisemitism, prejudice, and racism and
promoting respect for diversity, social justice and human rights.

The Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship (CHES), affiliated until Dec
1st 2020 with the Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies at Carleton University,
is now a registered charity (Read Media Release).  CHES will continue its
activities in support of Holocaust Education independently, using its former
name and logo. Read more about us…

Warm Thanks to Zelikovitz Centre as New Journey Begins

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

> “Teaching and learning about the Holocaust is an essential opportunity to
> inspire critical thinking, societal awareness, and personal growth. Yet this
> massive topic can also pose challenges to educators due to its traumatic
> nature, broad expanse, and intersection with challenging human dynamics
> including racism and antisemitism.” – International Holocaust Remembrance
> Alliance (IHRA)
>
> “To go from the darkest chapter of human history to creating the prospect of a
> brighter future through community based education and remembrance – that is
> our urgent task.” – Rabbi Bulka
>
> “All Canadians have a moral obligation to remember the past as a means of
> first recognizing and ultimately eradicating all acts of racism that diminish
> mankind. We applaud the important work undertaken by the Center for Holocaust
> Education and Scholarship (CHES).” – Shimon Fogel, CEO, CIJA
