MEGAN FRIESEN - ACUMATICA COMMUNITY FEATURED MEMBER FOR JULY 2024



Meet Megan Friesen our Acumatica Community Featured Member for July 2024. It’s
great to have you as part of the Acumatica Community @meganfriesen37! Here is a
little bit about Megan: I grew up and still live in Calgary, AB, Canada and work
for Contego Software Solutions as a Business Systems Analyst. In my role I wear
many hats including Sales, Implementation, Training, and Support. I went to
school in Calgary and started out with a degree in Business Administration and
from there I completed my CGA designation (now CPA). One of the courses I
enjoyed the most during my studies was a course on ERPs and system change
management. But that’s not where my career started. I started out in the oil and
gas services industry, first in accounts payable, then corporate accounting, and
finally in project accounting. After being a part of two system conversions
first from SAP to JE Edwards and then from JDE to Oracle I was fully bitten by
the ERP bug and made the switch over to Contego in 2019. My accounting
background has been a great fit as I work with our Acumatica clients. My primary
focus and area of expertise is finance, project accounting, distribution, and
reporting but I’ve worked with pretty much every edition of Acumatica now. I’m
surrounded by a great team at Contego, and we’ve really got a broad background
of experience. I always appreciate the knowledge that I gain from other
community members here. Being from Calgary, we’re about an hour from the
mountains so I love to get out and go camping, hiking, and skiing in my spare
time. I’ve also got two amazing little boys that keep my life full of
excitement! My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary later this
summer.

All Data Parses Accurately when scanning using (30) or (37) however UOM “EA”
does not populate and causes error in processing transfers. Cross ref in Stock
Item Screen with associated UOM States (30) and (37) are effective however do
not specify UOM like (3202) LB etc

level of Invoices & Memos (AR301000) → Details tab. So when the user would
manually select the Employee ID the system should automatically fill in the
Employee Name in a second new column. Thanks.

IMPORT SCENARIOS - ORDER IN WHICH LINES IMPORTED


Hi everyone, I feel like this probably has an easy answer but I cannot find it
anywhere. I have looked through the screens and the help files. Our customer is
importing GL transactions through the GL file. This last one they sent failed.
We realized it is because, on the import file, the transactions are not ordered
by the transaction ID anymore. When the import scenario goes to import, it fails
because it is only seeing part of the transaction (since the other part is
farther down in the file). Is there any way to set in the import scenario that
when the file is prepared, it rearranges the order of lines by the transaction
ID number assigned to it?

NOT ABLE TO OVERRDE "ONPERSISTED" METHOD IN A DRIVED CLASS FROM EPAPPROVALLIST


Hello all, I have a need to override “OnPersisted” method (actually I don’t to
be called at all) in a drived class from EPApprovalList (a few level of
inheritences) but no matter what I do it still gets called. First I tried to
override the method itself. The override method in my custom class gets hit when
I trace. In my override I just have one command which is “return” but still the
code in the base class somehow gets executed (I am guessing because it is in
fact an event handler so the base code is already executed when gets to the
override). So I decided the remove the handler when class is initialized. I took
two approaches to remove the handler. the codes seems to be executed successfuly
as when I trace I do not receive any error and it seems to dp what I want but
again I am not sure why still “OnPersisted” methods gets executed. Long story
short how I can prevent this method from being executed. Here is the related

We have several vendors that will provide free freight if we order a specific
dollar amount (ex. $3000). Has anyone found a way to document this type of
discount in the purchase order document so the buyer knows they can get free
freight if they increase the PO amount to $3000.

ERROR SAVING A USER DEFINED FIELD WITH A FINANCIAL PERIOD ATTRIBUTE SELECTOR ON
24R1


We have a client that has a financial period as user defined field that is
receiving an object reference error when upgrading to 24R1. I have verified the
data is saving in the database, and I have tested different FinPeriodID
selectors on different screens with the same issue. We have a case open, but I
wanted to see if anyone else has a workaround.

NOT ABLE TO OVERRDE "ONPERSISTED" METHOD IN A DRIVED CLASS FROM EPAPPROVALLIST


Hello all, I have a need to override “OnPersisted” method (actually I don’t to
be called at all) in a drived class from EPApprovalList (a few level of
inheritences) but no matter what I do it still gets called. First I tried to
override the method itself. The override method in my custom class gets hit when
I trace. In my override I just have one command which is “return” but still the
code in the base class somehow gets executed (I am guessing because it is in
fact an event handler so the base code is already executed when gets to the
override). So I decided the remove the handler when class is initialized. I took
two approaches to remove the handler. the codes seems to be executed successfuly
as when I trace I do not receive any error and it seems to dp what I want but
again I am not sure why still “OnPersisted” methods gets executed. Long story
short how I can prevent this method from being executed. Here is the related
portion of the drived class I have. using System;using System.C

FREIGHT INCLUDED ON VENDOR PO


We have several vendors that will provide free freight if we order a specific
dollar amount (ex. $3000). Has anyone found a way to document this type of
discount in the purchase order document so the buyer knows they can get free
freight if they increase the PO amount to $3000.

ERROR SAVING A USER DEFINED FIELD WITH A FINANCIAL PERIOD ATTRIBUTE SELECTOR ON
24R1


We have a client that has a financial period as user defined field that is
receiving an object reference error when upgrading to 24R1. I have verified the
data is saving in the database, and I have tested different FinPeriodID
selectors on different screens with the same issue. We have a case open, but I
wanted to see if anyone else has a workaround.

HELP TO DEBUG GENERIC INQUIRE GENERATED QUERY


Hello everyone, I'm working on a tool to convert GIs to SQL Queries for an
external tool, and when debugging the generated Acumatica SQL query for one of
my Generic Inquiry I see that it has a LEFT JOIN to the ARPayment table, but I
can't find any reference to ARPayment in the GI's editor, or in the GI's
exported XML file. The ARPayment is neither a BaseType DAC for any of the DACs
used in the GI. These are the tables in the GI: And all relations: The generated
query used to retrieve the GI data has this LEFT JOIN: There is no reference to
the ARPayment in the selected fields also. Does someone have any clue as to why
this join is being added? Thanks! Ricardo.

CSS/STYLE FOR CUSTOMER SELECT DIALOG


Hi all, I have this formatting for the Customers PL/GI -- if a customer status
is One-Time, then highlight the row red: =Iif ([Customer.Status] = 'T','red20',
'default') But I would like a similar formatting in all Customer selection
dialogs, like in the screenshot below. It would be great for our customer
service reps to see One-Time customers highlighted red in dialog selections: Do
I need to accomplish this with a customization? Is this where I do it? Thanks
for any suggestions/pointers, this is all new to me! :D
