OUR COMMITMENT

Tides is dedicated to providing support programming to children, teens and
adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. We believe that grief is a
natural and normal process that is unique to each person. By offering a
judgement-free and caring environments, Tides helps individuals of all ages
journey through their own individualized healing process. We connect with
individuals who have experienced loss by hosting peer grief support groups,
offering educational and guidance sessions as requested, provide crisis response
support, and offer additional books and resources to provide hope and
encouragement to families.

The Tides program is an extremely important component of the District’s
counseling system. We have called upon the Tides Program staff for supports
beyond their weekly routine meetings. They have gone over and above their call
of duty in times of need.

Tides is a huge reason for where Hunter and I are today with our healing. It has
allowed Hunter to freely express his emotions and feelings without worrying
about being judged. It has helped him remember all the great times he had with
his dad and the life his dad had.

Tides became a family for me and Gabe at a time when our family was most
fractured. The value of this was, and continues to be, immeasurable.

Every person involved was so compassionate & very concerned for the children and
me. The kids were able to share memories about their Dad and it made them (and
me) feel so good to be able to talk about him and the special person he was to
us without feeling like he or we were being judged.
