Dear Amanda,
We are writing to inform you of an important action you need to take by January
1, 2025 in order to stay in compliance of Assembly Bill 1870. This bill requires
a change to form DWC-7: the notice to employees informing them of their rights
regarding work-related injuries and workers' compensation benefits, which must
be posted in a visual location in every workplace.
Due to a recent bulletin from the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) posted
on October 31, 2024, effective January 1, 2025, all CA policyholders are
required to post the updated DWC-7 at their work sites by January 1, 2025.
Steps to take to stay compliant:
1. Download the new DWC-7* from our document center.
2. Print and replace all old DWC-7s in your workplace, making sure this form is
visible at all work sites.
3. Replace the old DWC-7 in any new hire or onboarding packets, or anywhere
else that may contain the old form.
*Note: the new DWC-7 form will be very similar to the old, with the addition of
language letting injured workers know of their right to retain an attorney if
injured in the workplace.
