Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of the wstETH bridge, Neutron’s
latest initiative to bolster the Interchain economy. Developed in collaboration
with Lido, Axelar, and Wormhole, this bridge serves a crucial role in connecting
Ethereum liquidity with Neutron and the broader Cosmos ecosystem.

📖 Tutorials

The bridge aims to fuel the growth of emerging DeFi dApps in Cosmos, including
Astroport, Mars, Osmosis and others. Unlike traditional bridges, the wstETH
bridge is engineered to mitigate liquidity fragmentation by offering a unified
token denomination, thereby optimizing liquidity and user experience across the
Interchain.

Future updates are already in the pipeline, including streamlined Ethereum
bridging processes and WalletConnect integration for enhanced user experience.

The bridge is designed to become increasingly more robust as relayers are
onboarded, and Wormhole is set to join the bridge provider set later this year.

The bridge also serves as a foundational layer for implementing advanced
features like in-flight staking and cross-chain governance. Plans are underway
to propose the transfer of bridge ownership to Lido DAO’s Ethereum-based
governance smart contracts.

In summary, the wstETH bridge is not just an asset bridge; it’s a strategic
infrastructure piece designed to advance both the Neutron and Ethereum
ecosystems. By facilitating smoother, more efficient cross-chain interactions,
Neutron is taking a substantial step towards a unified, expansive DeFi
landscape.
