Requirements for membership:

 * Must be at least 16 years of age.
 * Must have a valid drivers License, with a photo copy.
 * Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent GED if 18 years old or older,
   with photo copy.
 * Must not have any Felony convictions or under Indictment.
 * Must live within a 7-mile radius of the Fire Department.

ABOUT US



The Tramway Rural Fire Department proudly and continuously protects life,
property and the environment from fire, natural disasters, and other emergencies
for those who live, work and travel through the Tramway fire district and
surrounding districts with professional and honest personnel.

The Tramway Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 2 full
time, 8 hour shift personnel, that work Monday thru Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. In
addition to the paid staff, the Tramway Fire Department has approximately 36
dedicated volunteers that respond at a moments notice, 24 hours a day.

Local individuals who may be interested in becoming a volunteer may contact us
at (919)776-7031 or stop by the station located at the address listed below to
pick up an application. Applications may also be printed from the application
tab and returned to the Tramway Rural Fire Department during business hours.

FIRE PREVENTION SAVES LIVES

October is a busy time of year for fire departments around the country, it is
fire prevention month. Every year during October, Tramway Rural Fire Department
will travel to schools, provide station tours and perform public displays that
educate children and the public about fire safety and showing them not to be
afraid of a firefighter. It is crucial that children understand not to hide from
firefighters.

To schedule an appointment for a fire prevention class please contact our
