RECOVERY YOGA NETWORK

Helping you recover from life.

Working with children and seniors and chronic illness, addiction, and mental
health patients to facilitate true integrative care.
In an effort to effect TRUE RECOVERY MAINTENANCE, The Recovery Yoga Network
merges proven, practical tools of established recovery programs with the
traditional mind/body practices of yoga.

WORKING WITH YOU

RECOVERY YOGA NETWORK works to create a resource and sustainable pathway to
recovery from addiction, codependency, eating disorders, and other maladaptive
patterns present in modern society.
We humbly acknowledge that recovery means different things to different people.

WHY YOGA FOR RECOVERY?

Yoga has long been used to help relieve stress, and scientific evidence has
provided a link between practicing yoga and the reduction of stress by
modulation of the stress response, Harvard Health reports. When a person feels
stress, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and body temperature increase.
Yoga may actually act on this system by regulating and balancing some of the
stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline.

SELF-ACCEPTANCE AND SUSTAINABLE RECOVERY

RECOVERY YOGA NETWORK serves people impacted by trauma, addiction, and
co-occurring disorders recover through trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based yoga.

The spring board for developing these programs arises from the same fundamental
teaching of yoga that: we bear responsibility for reducing suffering in
ourselves; and once we have achieved a level of health we are to be of service
to others.

WHY INTERDISCIPLINARY?

More and more programs are focusing on a “whole person” approach that
incorporates a variety of methods and tools to help achieve, maintain, and
enhance recovery.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Just as talk therapy is important to the success of a client’s recovery, the
somatic healing benefits of Yoga are critical to move trauma out of the body.
Many clients slip in to addiction to numb feelings or pain and disassociate from
their body. Addiction is simply a result of the crisis of disconnection. Somatic
healing through yoga and other mindful movement practices allow client’s to
safely learn how to recognize uncomfortable or painful emotions, teaches them
new ways of gaining control of these thoughts and emotions, and connects mind
body and spirit.
