  EBSCO Health   Expected Next Month: Updated Nursing Reference Center Plus
(NRC+) Skills   In response to user feedback, the Nursing Reference Center Plus
(NRC+) Skills will be updated in November to a more discoverable format,
including new headers and a cleaner look. These updates will enable quicker
reference access and the ability to get to critical information faster and
easier.

In addition to these content enhancements, there will be changes to certain
interface functionality. We recommend reviewing the specific titles that will be
impacted (review crosswalk), as well as the recommendations below. We will
continue to provide additional details as the transition progresses, but please
note:
 * 64 current NRC+ Skills will be split into two or more Skills with new names
   to aid in content discoverability. With this change, each new Skill will have
   a different accession number. As a result, you will need to recreate any
   direct links, alerts, saved articles or notes for the current 64 NRC+ Skills.
   You will also need to reload SCORM packages for this subset.

 * 1,430 current NRC+ Skills will have updated titles and updated content within
   the Skill. Alerts, saved articles, and notes will be retained with these
   changes.

 * 158 NRC+ Skills will remain unchanged, with no modifications to their content
   or titles.

  Monthly Update: Dynamic Health Skills   Review Master List►
Review Anticipated Updates (next 60 days)►

We’re updating 127 skills and adding 18 new skills, providing a total of 2,550
skills.

  Jane®   Over 100 Microlearnings Available Now   Throughout 2022, we’re
committed to adding 150+ microlearning courses to help develop clinicians in
less time. Ranging from 15 – 45 minutes, these accredited CE courses are
typically about 15 minutes long, awarding 0.25 contact hours. There are over
100 of these courses available to you now (review here), and we’ll continue
providing updates as we progress. No action is needed by admins or learners as
these microlearnings are auto-recommended based on each user’s assessment
results.

    New Pathway: Adjunct Assessments   We have developed a new pathway called
Adjunct Assessments, available now for all Jane users (view here). These
assessments can be assigned individually and provide a deep dive into key
concepts.

There are four assessments in this pathway, with the plan to add more in the
future. The current assessment titles and topics include:
 1. Medication Dosage Calculation – NEW!
    * Mathematical methods to ensure medications of all routes are administered
      correctly with proper dosing in all populations.
 2. Emergency Patient Triage Assessment – NEW!
    * Assessing and triaging patients seeking emergent care for an acute or
      chronic illness or injury. No one specific assessment tool is leveraged.
      The exam focuses on prioritization and assessment.
 3. Cardiac Rhythm Identification Basic
    * Identification of basic cardiac anomalies.
 4. Cardiac Rhythm Identification Advanced
    * Identification of more advanced cardiac anomalies.

  Addition of Development Simulations to Critical Thinking Assessments   We
recently added Development Simulations to Critical Thinking Assessments. These
Development Simulations will help learners develop their critical thinking
skills and appear as new development plan options under select Critical Thinking
Assessments (view here).      Reporting and User Experience Enhancements   We
recently made the following enhancements to our reporting and user experience:
 * Assessment Export Performance: When accessing the Critical Thinking
   Assessment export, you will experience improved speeds in the export and
   download times.
 * Archived Assessments: We've added an Archive column to the Assessment Results
   export. You can now filter your export based on archived status (view here).
 * Assessment Status: Admins can now view assessment status and completion
   information from the Assessments section (view here).
 * Recommended Course Details: Admins can now view course details and seat time
   of Jane’s development recommendations (view here).

  Expected Next Month: Additional Update to Knowledge Assessments   In November,
35 questions will become the standard question count for Knowledge
Assessments. NOTE: Some adjunct assessments will have fewer than 35 questions.
The goal of this change is to standardize assessment seat time so that
organizations can more easily schedule proctored Jane assessments.

In addition, we recently made the following updates to Knowledge Assessments:
 * Go Live date (view here): Jane admins that are looking to assign assessments
   to an individual learner, can now choose to assign their selections at a
   future date. This new field defaults to the current date.

 * Enhanced Topic Distribution: All knowledge assessments have been updated to
   ensure learners receive questions from all 8 competency topics listed
   below.
   * Acute Diseases and Conditions
   * Chronic Diseases and Conditions
   * Diagnostics
   * Patient Assessment
   * Patient Management
   * Pharmacology
   * Professionalism, Soft Skills, and Leadership
   * Safety and Infection Control

 * New Version: In August, we released a new version of the RN: Hemodialysis
   Knowledge Assessment, adding enhancements to questions based on customer
   feedback. No action is required by admins or learners.

  Expected Next Month: New Acute Care Critical Thinking Assessments   Now
expected in November, the Acute Care AI Critical Thinking Assessment will be
replaced with two new versions, and their corresponding topics, listed below.
The major difference between Novice and Intermediate content will be scoring
related to Problem Identification and Outcomes managements. No action is
required by adminstrators or learners.
 * Acute Care AI Critical Thinking Assessment – Novice
   * Myocardial Infraction
   * Pulmonary Embolism
   * Cerebrovascular Accident
   * Diabetic Ketoacidosis
   * Uncontrolled Pain
   * Urinary Retention

 * Acute Care AI Critical Thinking Assessment – Intermediate
   * Myocardial Infraction
   * Pulmonary Embolism
   * Cerebrovascular Accident
   * Diabetic Ketoacidosis
   * Peritonitis
   * Urinary Retention

  Expected Next Month: Retiring Pathways   In November, the following pathways
will be retired:
 * Case Manager
 * Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
 * Dietitian
 * Direct Service Professional
 * Medical Social Worker
 * Pharmacy Technician
 * Registered Nurse - Surgery (First Assist)
 * Registered Nurse – Telemetry*
 * Registered Nurse - Wound Care*
 * Sterilization Technician

As a reminder, all titles with "(Legacy version)" were retired and no longer
supported as of May 1, 2022. For any organizations that use a third party LMS,
you must manually select the new courses from the Connect Explorer and upload
them into your system if you haven't already. Then, assign one of the current
courses above in place of the retired courses.      Course Completion
Issues: National Sedation Center: Adult Moderate Sedation    If your
organization purchased the course National Sedation Center - Adult Moderate
Sedation, learners may have experienced the course freezing or received a "can't
progress" alert while completing the course. In collaboration with the course
partner, we refreshed and updated all of the content to help resolve these
issues.

If learners still experience these course completion issues, please reach out to
customer.service@healthstream.com to have the course unlocked. This will allow
the learner to continue without needing to retake the course. Please include the
course name, date, and the learner's user name with your request. NOTE: The
learner will still need to complete the National Sedation Center: Skills
Checklists for Adult Moderate Sedation afterwards to receive their completed
certification.     National Sedation Center: Minimal & Moderate Sedation
Certification Cards   If you contract for any of the courses below, and have
learners that did not receive their certification cards in the mail. Most often,
this delay occurs due to an invalid email address or the email security settings
at the learner's organization blocking the message.
 * National Sedation Center: Adult Moderate Sedation
 * National Sedation Center: Skills Checklists for Adult Moderate Sedation
 * National Sedation Center: Minimal & Moderate Sedation Bundle
 * National Sedation Center: Foundational Knowledge: Adult Minimal Sedation

If a learner has not received their Certification Card within 14 days of
completing a Skills Checklist, please complete the following steps:
 1. Confirm that the email address entered by the learner into the National
    Sedation Center: Moderate Certification Opt-in Form is correct.
 2. Notify your IT department to add nationalsedationcenter.com to your accepted
    senders or whitelist.
 3. Have the learner email john@nationalsedationcenter.com directly to request a
    copy of the certification card.
 4. Certifications can be verified at any time by logging in to Registry Search
    - National Sedation Center and entering the learner's First Name, Last Name,
    and State.
