26–28 MAY 2025 IN VIENNA



The first Digital Humanism Conference will take place from 26 to 28 May 2025 in
Vienna, Austria. Inspired by the Vienna Manifesto on Digital Humanism, this
conference brings together leading thinkers, researchers, and innovators to
critically examine the development of digital technology and to propose designs
that align with human values, democratic principles, and social justice.

At the heart of digital humanism is the commitment to ensure that technology
enhances our shared human rights and freedoms rather than undermining them. Over
the course of three days, we will discuss ways to refocus our digital future on
people and society.

This includes, above all, the design of artificial intelligence—from its
societal impacts to issues of explainability, transparency, and fairness. It
also encompasses the role of AI in cybersecurity. Equally important are
questions about technology platforms and the future role of international
technology regulation. The conference will address AI in the context of social
media, democracy and journalism, as well as the critical topics of innovation
and new applications.
