Tips to protect your digital banking account. Dear valued client, In view of the recent SMS phishing and bogus call attacks, we would like to provide a few important security tips to protect you and your loved ones from cybercrimes. How can you identify phishing SMS? Cybercriminals would send you SMS with malicious links that lead you to fake websites or malicious software to steal your personal information. Remember, we would never send you SMS asking you to: 1. Provide credentials (e.g. digital banking username and password) 2. Provide one-time password (OTP) 3. Download the banking app via a hyperlink 4. Reveal your personal information to receive any prize or reward Four security tips to safeguard yourself Only access our services via official channels – Our official domains include , and . Beware of lookalike domains (e.g. ). Keep your contact details updated – Ensure your registered contact details (e.g. phone number, email address) with us are up-to-date to receive latest updates on cybercrimes. Think before you read – Be extra vigilant for purported SMS from the Bank. Also, please opt in for in-app push notifications in SC Mobile to get notified via a secured channel, as many of our notifications* have been migrated to in-app push notifications. Authenticate before you act – Whenever you are in doubt about either the sender or the message, contact us at 2888 8868 immediately. Watch out for bogus calls purportedly from e-commerce sites Beware of bogus calls purportedly from e-commerce sites. Never disclose your credit or debit card details, including credit or debit card number, expiry date, CVV or one-time passwords (OTPs) to suspicious callers. Please note that legitimate e-commerce sites will never ask you to respond to an SMS to confirm or cancel a bank transaction. If in doubt, request the caller’s contact details. Then, verify the hotline number(s) provided with the Bank before calling. If you suspect that you have inadvertently disclosed any personal information after receiving a bogus phone call, or calling a phoney bank hotline number, then please contact our staff at 2886-8868 (press 2-6-0) or report to the Police immediately. Remember, we will neither request for your password or security information by phone call, email or SMS., nor do we notify anyone of account irregularities through pre-recorded voice messages.
