After 20 years of SAP consulting for Tax and the Data Retention Tool (DaRT), we
are expanding into the international tax software market! Governments require
submission of accounting data for tax compliance and tax audits. Many countries
require these accounting data submissions to be formatted as an eXtensible
Markup Language file (XML). The XML files generally follow the design of the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). However, each
government can customize, expressing the data content, formatting, sequencing,
restrictions, and other attributes in an XML Schema Definition (XSD) file.
Although the XSDs are publicly available, they are complex, and interpreting
their precise meaning can be challenging.




Simplified: Taxpayers need a way to easily provide tax authorities valid XML
files that contain requested data, following all the formatting and restriction
rules as defined in the  XSD by the government. Help is on the way with
eTaxSolutions developed products:

eTaxAudit centralizes accounting data needed for producing XML files (e.g.
accounting books, sales invoices, value-added taxes, goods movements, etc.), and
then generates XML files.  Regardless of country, report or SAP design,
eTaxAudit allows for customization through configuration, and not customized
programming! If data needs to be adjusted to properly report to the tax
authorities or if the data is not available in the SAP system – no worries –
eTaxAudit allows for the importing, posting and automation of manual adjustments
while maintaining an audit trail of who, what, and when the change occurred.

eTaxEcho verifies that an XML file technically complies with the tax
authorities’ requirements expressed as an XSD file before the taxpayer submits
tax returns and tax audit files. If technical errors are found, eTaxEcho
provides specific error details such as number of errors and error
descriptions.  Plus, the exact location of the error(s) are highlighted in the
file. This allows the user to conveniently navigate through the file to visually
inspect each error.



XML files usually created by Information Technology professionals, are difficult
for Tax professionals to review and have confidence in the reported data.
eTaxEcho's XML Analyzer is the perfect tool to display the XML file in a
user-friendly grid format ~ complete with filtering and sorting capabilities.

export the XML data contents to third party spreadsheet and database
applications.
