A SHARED, ONLINE EHR HELPS COMMUNITY PROVIDERS COLLABORATE FOR QUALITY,
EFFICIENT CARE

Piedmont Healthcare collaborates with community providers by giving more than
18,000 users access to EpicCare Link. Each quarter, providers help patients
receive necessary care faster by exchanging more than 61,000 discharges and
7,700 referrals. Piedmont has saved more than $4.5 million in IT costs each year
since transitioning to the web-based system.

and personalized care plans for people living with sickle cell disease, helping

efficient using single-screen Express Lanes in Epic. Child vaccination and
screening rates are higher when physicians use the feature, and physicians
report that it helps them document the varied components of the visit
recommended in American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.
