STILL MY WORLD

TWO LONE SWORDSMEN

In 2003 Rotters Golf Club was approached by the Italian fashion house Emigliano
Zegna to create some music to help launch their first foray into Japan. Andrew
and Keith grabbed some tracks they had been working on, polished them up and
swapped them for a small advance and a large raid on their Bond Street store.
They then turned their attention to the next TLS album proper. This was Double
Gone Chapel where rock and psychobilly were mixed in with electronica and
controversially Andrew added his own vocals. The Zegna album ‘Still My World’
was side-lined by a live band and a whole new direction.

Andrew’s untimely death refocused attention on his historical recordings and
‘Still My World’, previously only released in Japan, now sees the light of day
in the rest of the world.

The album will be released on vinyl for Record Store Day on 20th April and
digitally on 3rd May 2024.

MORE OF THAT FRIGHTFUL OOMPTY BOOMPTY MUSIC

Our friends at Spun Out have released a compilation dedicated to the Guv’nor
himself. ‘More of that Frightful Oompty Boompty Music’ showcases a selection of
the shining greatness from the agency’s roster including a Hardway Bros remix of
‘We Are the Axis’ by The Asphodells. Paranoid London, Fantastic Twins, Mehmet
Aslan, Autarkic, Ruf Dug, Sean Johnston, and Manfredas gift exclusive tracks
which highlight the sublime acid, techno and house sound that Weatherall would
have described as “oopmty-boompty” music.

Listen and buy on Bandcamp.

WARPAINT 'THE FOOL' WEATHERALL MIXES

On the completion of the recording of Warpaint’s debut album The Fool, Andrew
Weatherall was given access to the album’s master tapes to work on mixes for the
finished record. The track Baby, along with the iconic single Undertow, were
both mixed by the Guv’nor and appeared on the finished album that was released
in 2010.

For the first time ever, this Record Store Day edition brings together all the
mixes Weatherall created while working on the project, including a never
released before, finished version of Jubilee. The full album mixed and sequenced
in the order Andrew envisaged (different to the original track order of ‘The
Fool’) will be released as a limited edition double album in a gatefold sleeve
on yellow vinyl with new artwork for RSD 2021.

Out 12th June 2021, more info here.

With the slight easing of the lockdown we are now able to focus on the future
and how we can celebrate Andrew’s legacy.

We are in the early stages of planning a celebration of his life at a live
event, in a book and as a film.

We are only just beginning to catalogue his studio contents, a wealth of music,
jottings and the incessant confirmation of an unrestrained life full of
experiences and interests limited only by the time he had over when not making
or playing music.

We would welcome any anecdotes and reminiscences, photographs, drawings, posters
or other artefacts and ephemera that shed light on his life. We are also hoping
to have at the event a means by which friends and admirers can record their
thoughts and memories to include in the archive.

Please send anything you might have to contact@rottersgolfclub.com.

If someone other than yourself needs to be acknowledged, (e.g. a photographer),
please include the credit. The photograph on this page is by John Barrett.

If you wish to mark his memory we would be grateful for any donations made to
charities that were important to him:
Amnesty International
Multiple Sclerosis Society
Thrombosis UK
Crisis
