DETECTING DELIRIUM

Researchers at the Tippie College of Business have developed a new algorithm
that could help health care professionals more easily identify elderly patients
in the ER who are at risk of delirium.

THRIVING IN YOUR NEXT STEPS: A DISCUSSION WITH TIPPIE ALUMNI

Thursday, April 27, 2023 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Pappajohn Business Building
Join us to hear about the joys and challenges of post college life from alumni
who have been in your shoes. As your next steps approach, there’s many unknowns,
uncertainty, excitement, and stress. Hear tips, tricks, and suggestions that
others used to guide them in this time of change. There also will be time for
you to ask questions. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served
basis. This event is targeted for graduating seniors and hosted in conjunction
with Almost Alumni Week.

MERGE
Join Tippie's Story Lab students for a brown-bag lunch at MERGE and hear their
stories on the theme of "Future Tense." Each storyteller will share a short
story about a time when everything seemed mapped out (and was or wasn't what it
seemed). Turning points, the path less traveled, and starting all over again.
Moving towards what we want or away from what hurts. This event is free and open
to the public.

Topic: Interdisciplinarity of Data Science and AI: Driving Innovation and
Advancing Societal Impact. The ubiquity of AI and data science is spurred by
significant factors, including 1) major methodological and computational
advances; 2) the increasing availability of problem statements in sciences,
engineering, business and the social sciences; and 3) an increasing demand from
academia, research institutions, corporations, and governments for talent.
This is presenting unparalleled opportunities to accelerate scientific
discovery, innovation and translation. In this talk, I’ll present elements of
our research program and vision that is centered on the principles of data &
society, including partnerships, fostering innovation in data science and AI
while generating educational opportunities, societal impact, and
entrepreneurship.
