VIRTUAL REALITY MOVIES: RAVENSBRÜCK

Each panorama movie is available in two file sizes. The small movies display at
the same size on your computer screen as the large movies, but the small movies
do not allow you to zoom in on as much detail as the large movies do. All movies
are a full circle (360 degrees) unless noted otherwise.

Ravensbrück Center of Camp (1)

304 K 1 MB
This panorama opens facing the textile factory. The long, gray buildings to the
left date from the period of the camp, but their function is unknown. Continuing
left, the building with the peaked roof is the camp waterworks. Next is the camp
gate. The gray building seen through the trees was the SS garage in front of
which can bee seen the foundations of the former kitchen and bath buildings.
Continuing left, the building with the peaked roof and chimneys is the camp
prison. The remainder of the buildings visible in this panorama were constructed
since 1945. The slight ridges in the gravel indicate the foundations of the
former camp barracks. The large trees line the sides of what was known as Lager
Street 1.

This VR opens with the prison center and the crematorium on the right.
Continuing to the right is the wall of nations. Because this camp was used by
the military in the post-war years, commemoration ceremonies were held outside
the walls. Further to the right, Will Lammert's Burdened Woman sculpture looks
out over Lake Schwedt.

Ravensbrück Memorial Plaza (2)

600 K 2.7 MB
This 180 degree VR was taken at the base of Will Lammert's Burdened Woman
memorial. In the background are seen the crematorium (with chimney) and the wall
of nations.
