We are a police-owned organisation working on behalf of the Police Service
throughout the UK over the last 20 years, to deliver a wide range of crime
prevention and demand reduction initiatives.

PREVENTING THE PREDICTABLE

Police Crime Prevention Initiatives is the UK’s police crime prevention
initiative. We seek to achieve sustainable reductions in crime through design
and other approaches to help people live in a safer society.


THE BASIC MISSION FOR WHICH POLICE EXIST IS TO PREVENT
CRIME AND DISORDER

Home Secretary, who established the London Metropolitan Police Force in 1829


OUR INITIATIVES

Improves the security of buildings and their immediate surroundings to provide
safe places to live, work, shop and visit

Provides a new generation of formally accredited & portable qualifications in
crime prevention and designing out crime

A voluntary scheme that allows Chief Constables to accredit non police staff of
organisations, to tackle graffiti, litter and anti-social behaviour

A new Licensing Security & Vulnerability initiative, to reduce the risk of crime
and help raise standards to make licensed premises safer for customers, staff,
management and local communities

Documents police requirements for the private security industry involved in
providing the installation, maintenance and monitoring of alarm systems

awarded to organisations that have adopted a number of key principles to protect
against the risk of crime

UK-wide initiative aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking
facilities
