WELCOME TO DON BLUTH STUDIOS

Don Bluth is teaming up with Lavalle Lee from TraditionalAnimation.com to create
brand new content from the newly formed Don Bluth Studios, LLC. This new company
is going to be establishing new characters and new ideas. These new ideas will
start as children's books then they will be pitched to television networks and
online streaming services. We believe the public is craving another renaissance
of hand drawn animation. Our goal is to make that dream become a reality.

Our company will be VERY transparent, showcasing and updating the public with
concept art, pencil tests, model sheets, animatics, and much much more. We are
excited to show everyone what we have been working on. Please join us in our new
adventure!

FIRST CHILDREN'S BOOK:

YUKI - STAR OF THE SEA

The first Don Bluth Fable! - Coming Christmas 2023!!

The first of many fables. Don Bluth set out to create his first children's book.
To draw, write and paint the whole story himself. After trying digital coloring,
Don just didn't think it looked right. So he decided to do it fully traditional
using gouche paint.

Yuki, star of the sea, is a delightful story of a little whale who loves
adventure. Who always gets in trouble. Against mama Orca’s warnings, he swims
too close to the shore where he is captured and taken into a world of
entertainment. There he does tricks in a tank in Mexico. Hundreds of people buy
tickets to see this fabulous little whale. Hollywood cashes in on Yuki’s
popularity and contracts him to play a part in a film about a whale who is
homesick and longs to go home. So well does Yuki play the part that it makes him
homesick too. Ah, but Hollywood won’t let him go. Yuki has become a great star.
He is worth millions.

Children from all over the world write letters to the director of the film
begging him to return Yuki to the sea. Finally the director caves in. The whale
is put in a plane and flown back to Iceland’s cold bay and there he is welcomed
into the arms of his family – and friends.

BRAND NEW BOOK:

DON BLUTH AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Now, after more than half a century in the movie business, Don is ready to tell
the story of his life. How his passions for artistry, integrity, and his Mormon
faith shaped him into the beloved icon whose creativity, entrepreneurship, and
deeply-held beliefs entertained, enthralled, and inspired millions across the
globe.

Don Bluth never felt like a Donald. So people have always called him Don. A
matinee of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs awakened something within him.
Despite growing up in rural Texas and Utah, he practiced and worked hard to
become an Hollywood animator. And after working alongside his idol Walt Disney,
and on films including Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood,
Winne the Pooh, The Rescuers, and Pete’s Dragon, he realized that the company
had changed into something he didn’t necessarily believe in. So made the
industry-shocking decision to start his own animation studio.

Exclusive original art makes this book perfect for fans, cineasts, and anyone
looking “somewhere out there” for inspiration and motivation. Don Bluth Studios

ABOUT OUR TEAM

MIXING THE OLD WITH THE NEW.

DON BLUTH

Don Bluth is one of the most influential American animators in today’s industry.
In the field of animation, Bluth performs as film director, producer, writer,
production designer, video game designer, and animation instructor. His creative
talents have created classic animated films with beloved characters, memorable
songs, and heart-warming tales. He is known for directing The Secret of NIMH, An
American Tail, The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and Anastasia among
many others. In addition to films, animation led to his involvement in the
creation of the popular Laserdisc games Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.

His animation career began at Walt Disney Studios working for Walt Disney
himself as an in-between artist on Sleeping Beauty in 1955. His animated career
soared while at Walt Disney Studios. He was an Animator on Robin Hood, followed
by Directing Animator on Winnie the Pooh and Tiger Too and The Rescuers. He
advanced to Director of Animation on Pete’s Dragon and then utilized his skill
and experience as Producer/Director on The Small One.

His career only continued to climb after his time at Walt Disney Studios ended.
In 1979, Don Bluth created Don Bluth Productions with Gary Goldman and John
Pomeroy. Their first feature film was The Secret of NIMH. Don Bluth teamed up
with Steven Spielberg. Together they released An American Tail and The Land
Before Time.

In 1986, his animation took him to Ireland where The Land Before Time, All Dogs
Go to Heaven, Rock-a-doodle, and Thumbelina were produced. Don Bluth returned to
America to work with Fox Animation Studios on Anastasia, and Titan A.E.

Don Bluth along with his protege Lavalle Lee have launched Don Bluth Studios to
produce brand new animation projects.

LAVALLE LEE

Lavalle Lee has been creating animated cartoons online since 1999/2000 for his
website flashcartoons.org. The cartoons on the site have gained viral video
status reaching millions of viewers online. In 2009, Lavalle started learning
hand drawn animation from Don Bluth in his animation classes, as well as
attending his Masterclasses in Arizona. He has also personally studied animation
and visual effects from Veteran Disney animators.

Lavalle is widely known in the animation industry as the creator of the
TraditionalAnimation.com website. After seeing that most animation sites were
about all types of animation, not any specific to classical hand drawn
animation, Lavalle knew Traditional Animation needed to be represented online.
TraditionalAnimation.com has become the leading website and social media account
for all things 2D. The website served as inspiration for “The Traditional
Animation Show” in which Lavalle was both producer and host.

His partnership with Don Bluth began when he championed the Dragon's Lair
Indiegogo campaign as lead project manager, editor, and in-betweener. The
campaign reached $730,000 dollars to produce a 7-minute pitch video. After ten
years of learning from Don Bluth and working together on the Dragon’s Lair
pitch, Lavalle accepted the position as Vice President of Don Bluth's new
company Don Bluth Studios.
