COLLABORATE IN LUCIDCHART

Lucidchart offers several collaboration tools that allow you and your team to
work together on documents effectively. Learn how to use these tools below. In
addition to standard sharing options, you can follow a collaborator, invite
others to follow you, add comments and assign tasks, and use integrations like
Slack and Microsoft Teams.


REAL-TIME COLLABORATION

If you share your document with a collaborator and give them editing access, you
can both edit the document at the same time. Any changes on one account will be
reflected on the other account immediately.

Collaborative cursors allow you to view exactly where on a document your
collaborators are working in real-time. To locate a collaborator's cursor, click
on their initials in the upper right corner of your canvas. To enable or disable
collaborative cursors, click on the eye icon to the left of the collaborator’s
initials and slide it to show or not show the cursors.


FOLLOW COLLABORATOR

Do you ever find yourself lost when trying to find the exact spot your colleague
is mentioning in a complicated diagram?

The Follow feature allows you to see from your collaborator’s point of view and
follow their movement and view in the document. To activate this feature, simply
click on any collaborator’s eye icon. You will then follow them in real time and
see exactly what they are seeing. To stop following your collaborator, simply
click on their icon again.

This makes it simple to stay in sync, no matter how complex your diagram may be!


INVITE OTHERS TO ME

Do you ever wish you could get everyone's attention so you can easily point out
specific parts of a diagram?

When others are simultaneously navigating in a document, activate this feature
by clicking on the eye icon and selecting “Invite others to me”. Using this
feature will invite all collaborators in the document to follow you as you
navigate a document. They will see exactly what you are seeing in real time.

Following a collaborator is available for all accounts. Invite others to me is
only available on Team and Enterprise accounts.


ADD COMMENTS AND ASSIGN TASKS

Read this section to learn how to add comments and assign tasks to
collaborators.

Add a comment

 1. Click  the Comment icon in the header, found in the upper right corner, to
    access the Comments panel. 
 2. Click the Plus icon on the upper-left side of the Comments panel.
    
 3. A  comment icon  will appear, click to place it somewhere on the canvas or
    attach it to a shape.
 4. In the panel that appears, type a message.
    
 5. Select Comment or press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Your comment will be added to the area of the canvas or selected object. To open
the thread, select the Comment icon near the associated object.



To review all comments on a document—including all Resolved comments—select the
Comment icon in the upper-right corner of the workspace.

Assign a task

 1. Click  the Comment icon in the header, found in the upper right corner, to
    access the Comments panel. 
 2. Click the Plus icon on the upper-left side of the Comments panel.
    
 3. A comment icon  will appear, click to place it somewhere on the canvas or
    attach it to a shape.
 4. In the panel that appears, type a message and “@” followed by the
    collaborator’s email address.
 5. Click the "Assign Task" checkbox.
    * Selectthe collaborator icon to add or delete assignees.
 6. Click Assign.



To complete a task, check the box next to the assignee’s name. The task will
appear in the “Completed” section of the Comments & Tasks panel. 



You can also:

 * Filter by “All comments and tasks” or “Just mine”.
 * Sort by “Newest to oldest” or “Oldest to newest”.
 * Click a comment or task from the Comments & Tasks panel to navigate to its
   location in the document.
 * Select Resolve thread to delete a comment or task from the document.


COLLABORATE WITH INTEGRATIONS
