EXPLORATION

Exploration is the act of searching for the purpose of discovery of information
or resources. Exploration occurs in all non-sessile animal species, including
humans. In human history, its most dramatic rise was during the Age of Discovery
when European explorers sailed and charted much of the rest of the world for a
variety of reasons. Since then, major explorations after the Age of Discovery
have occurred for reasons mostly aimed at information discovery.

In scientific research, exploration is one of three purposes of empirical
research (the other two being description and explanation). The term is commonly
used metaphorically. For example, an individual may speak of exploring the
Internet, sexuality, etc.

NOTABLE PERIODS OF HUMAN EXPLORATION

PHOENICIAN GALLEY SAILINGS

The Phoenicians (1550 BCE–300 BCE) traded throughout the Mediterranean Sea and
Asia Minor though many of their routes are still unknown today. The presence of
tin in some Phoenician artifacts suggests that they may have traveled to
Britain. Some scientists speculate that they voyaged all the way to Central
America, although this is disputed. According to Virgil's Aeneid and other
ancient sources, the legendary Queen Dido was a Phoenician from Asia Minor who
sailed to North Africa and founded the city of Carthage.

MINERAL EXPLORATION

Mineral exploration is the process of finding ores (commercially viable
concentrations of minerals) to mine. Mineral exploration is a much more
intensive, organized and professional form of mineral prospecting and, though it
frequently uses the services of prospecting, the process of mineral exploration
on the whole is much more involved.

TROUSERS

Trousers (pants in North America) are an item of clothing worn from the waist to
the ankles, covering both legs separately (rather than with cloth extending
across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses).

In the UK the word "pants" generally means underwear and not trousers.Shorts are
similar to trousers, but with legs that come down only to around the area of the
knee, higher or lower depending on the style of the garment. To distinguish them
from shorts, trousers may be called "long trousers" in certain contexts such as
school uniform, where tailored shorts may be called "short trousers", especially
in the UK.

In most of the Western world, trousers have been worn since ancient times and
throughout the Medieval period, becoming the most common form of lower-body
clothing for adult males in the modern world, although shorts are also widely
worn, and kilts and other garments may be worn in various regions and cultures.
Breeches were worn instead of trousers in early modern Europe by some men in
higher classes of society. Since the mid-20th century, trousers have
increasingly been worn by women as well. Jeans, made of denim, are a form of
trousers for casual wear, now widely worn all over the world by both sexes.
Shorts are often preferred in hot weather or for some sports and also often by
children and teenagers. Trousers are worn on the hips or waist and may be held
up by their own fastenings, a belt or suspenders (braces). Leggings are
form-fitting trousers, of a clingy material, often knitted cotton and spandex
(elastane).

CANADIAN WINE

Canadian wine is produced in mainly southern British Columbia and southern
Ontario. There is also a growing number of small scale producers of grapes and
wine in southern Quebec and Nova Scotia. The three largest wine-producing
regions in Canada are the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, the Niagara
Peninsula of Ontario, and in Essex County, Ontario (including Pelee Island).
Other wine-producing areas in British Columbia include the Similkameen valley,
the Fraser Valley region near Vancouver, southern Vancouver Island, the Creston
Valley, in the Kootenay area and the Gulf Islands. Other areas in Ontario
include Prince Edward County.

The Canadian wine industry also vinifies imported grapes and juice. These
products are labeled Cellared in Canada and are not required to conform to the
strict Vintners Quality Alliance content regulations.

Icewine, which can be produced reliably in most Canadian wine regions,
especially the Okanagan Valley, is the most recognized product on an
international basis. Canada produced 75.9 million litres of wine in 2002 (0.3%
of world production).

CULTURE OF CANADA

Canadian culture is a term that embodies the artistic, culinary, literary,
humour, musical, political and social elements that are representative of Canada
and Canadians. Throughout Canada's history, its culture has been influenced by
European culture and traditions, especially British and French, and by its own
indigenous cultures. Over time, elements of the cultures of Canada's immigrant
populations have become incorporated into mainstream Canadian culture. The
population has also been influenced by American culture because of a shared
language, proximity and migration between the two countries.

Canada is often characterized as being "very progressive, diverse, and
multicultural". Canada's federal government has often been described as the
instigator of multicultural ideology because of its public emphasis on the
social importance of immigration. Canada's culture draws from its broad range of
constituent nationalities, and policies that promote a just society are
constitutionally protected. Canadian Government policies—such as publicly funded
health care; higher and more progressive taxation; outlawing capital punishment;
strong efforts to eliminate poverty; an emphasis on cultural diversity; strict
gun control; and most recently, legalizing same-sex marriage—are social
indicators of Canada's political and cultural values.Canadians identify with the
countries institutions of health care, military peacekeeping, the National park
system and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

As my biggest exploration to date, I have now put all 3 parts of the exploration
together into one full-length, complete video for easier viewing. For any that
have yet to see this fascinating place, you are in for a treat, and for those
that may have already seen the previous 3-part series, I want to thank you for
the amazing support. Anyox is a copper mining ghost town in a remote part of
British Columbia, Canada located on the shores of Granby Bay. In 1910, the
Granby Consolidated Mining, Smelting and Power Company (Granby Consolidated)
started buying land in the area. It would become one of the largest copper
mining operations in the British Empire during this time Granby Consolidated
started construction of the town around 1912 and by 1914, with the mine and
smelter in full operation the town had grown to a population of around 3,000
residents. The town was remote and served by steamships as there were no road or
rail connections to the outside world. In the early 1920's a hydroelectric dam
was built by engineer John Eastwood to supply electricity to the town and mining
operation. The Great Depression drove down the demand for copper, and was the
beginning of the end for Anyox. The mine shut down in 1935, and the town was
abandoned. In 1942 there was just a small crew remaining and a wildfire tore
through the town and burned down all remaining wooden structures. Join me on
this adventure with my friend Mike and our guide Rob as we explore for 2 days to
discover what remains. Thank you for watching! ► Chapters: 00:00

As our Anyox exploration nears the end we still have time to explore some last
areas. First up, our trip wouldn't be complete without exploring where Anyox
started, the Hidden Creek Mine. We will hike up the creek and go underground
through a collapsed opening into a tunnel of the mine. Then one more stop before
we pack up and make the one hour journey by boat to our next destination. Come
along for the conclusion as we go underground and more! ► Chapters: 00:00

As my biggest exploration to date, I have now put all 3 parts of the
exploration together into one full-length, complete video for easier viewing.
For any that have yet to see this fascinating place, you are in for a treat,
and for those that may have already seen the previous 3-part series, I want
to thank you for the amazing support. Anyox is a copper mining ghost town in
a remote part of British Columbia, Canada located on the shores of Granby
Bay. In 1910, the Granby Consolidated Mining, Smelting and Power Company
(Granby Consolidated) started buying land in the area. It would become one of
the largest copper mining operations in the British Empire during this time
Granby Consolidated started construction of the town around 1912 and by 1914,
with the mine and smelter in full operation the town had grown to a
population of around 3,000 residents. The town was remote and served by
steamships as there were no road or rail connections to the outside world. In
the early 1920's a hydroelectric dam was built by engineer John Eastwood to
supply electricity to the town and mining operation. The Great Depression
drove down the demand for copper, and was the beginning of the end for Anyox.
The mine shut down in 1935, and the town was abandoned. In 1942 there was
just a small crew remaining and a wildfire tore through the town and burned
down all remaining wooden structures. Join me on this adventure with my
friend Mike and our guide Rob as we explore for 2 days to discover what
remains. Thank you for watching! ► Chapters: 00:00 Introduction/First Look

WHAT REMAINS OF CANADA'S LARGEST GHOST TOWN? | THE COMPLETE EXPLORATION OF

As my biggest exploration to date, I have now put all 3 parts of the
exploration together into one full-length, complete video for easier
viewing. For any that have yet to see this fascinating place, you are in for
a treat, and for those that may have already seen the previous 3-part
series, I want to thank you for the amazing support. Anyox is a copper
mining ghost town in a remote part of British Columbia, Canada located on
the shores of Granby Bay. In 1910, the Granby Consolidated Mining,
Smelting and Power Company (Granby Consolidated) started buying land
in the area. It would become one of the largest copper mining operations
in the British Empire during this time Granby Consolidated started
construction of the town around 1912 and by 1914, with the mine and smelter in
full operation the town had grown to a population of around 3,000
residents. The town was remote and served by steamships as there were no road
or rail connections to the outside world. In the early 1920's a
hydroelectric dam was built by engineer John Eastwood to supply
electricity to the town and mining operation. The Great Depression
drove down the demand for copper, and was the beginning of the end for
Anyox. The mine shut down in 1935, and the town was abandoned. In 1942 there
was just a small crew remaining and a wildfire tore through the town and
burned down all remaining wooden structures. Join me on this adventure
with my friend Mike and our guide Rob as we explore for 2 days to discover
what remains. Thank you for watching! ► Chapters: 00:00 Introduction/First

This year saw some of the most significant progress in space exploration of
the last five decades, reigniting the sense of awe from the original space
race. From a powerful new space telescope to a flight to the moon and back,
more countries than ever are venturing into the cosmos. Eric Sorensen breaks
down Canada's contributions to some of the most important space missions
in 2022, and how it will play a key role in future projects. For more info,

As our Anyox exploration nears the end we still have time to explore some
last areas. First up, our trip wouldn't be complete without exploring where
Anyox started, the Hidden Creek Mine. We will hike up the creek and go
underground through a collapsed opening into a tunnel of the mine. Then one
more stop before we pack up and make the one hour journey by boat to our next
destination. Come along for the conclusion as we go underground and more!
