BENEFITS OF VOHRA’S WOUND CARE CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS

By earning a Wound Care Certification with Vohra, you will become a wound care
expert based on the needs of the clinical environment in which you treat
patients. Wound Care is a highly sought-after competency for nurses practicing
in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), and for home health nurses caring for
patients in the home at bedside.

Nurses with a Wound Care Certification can both assist physicians and treat
wounds directly, improving patient outcomes significantly. Not only do trained
wound nurses help improve patient quality of life, they help nursing facilities
and home health agencies minimize the risk of citations and infractions for
pressure ulcers.

Patients under the care of a certified wound nurse rarely need to leave their
regular place of treatment to visit wound care centers or hospitals, where such
trips often overexert the patient and are expensive for the facility and/or
payor.

By developing your wound care expertise, whether as a Certified Wound Nurse in a
SNF, or with a Home Health Agency, wound training improves patient outcomes and
quality of life, and minimizes the need for costly and often traumatic wound
treatment in the long-term. For these reasons and countless others, nurses
certified in wound care are a valuable asset to any patient care team.

Learn how earning a Vohra Wound Nurse Certification can help your facility
become a Center of Excellence.

HEAR WHAT OUR GRADUATES ARE SAYING

When the director of nursing asked me to be the wound care nurse here, I wanted
to get wound certified. I chose to complete the online course from Vohra. I got
a lot out of the program. The education provided helped me clarify certain wound
types. It helped me learn how to clearly identify venous and arterial wounds and
diabetic wounds. After doing the reading and looking at the examples, I
understood it better. The program made it simple to learn.
Marie Appalon

The program was so appropriate for my skilled nursing background and makes me
more confident to handle wounds in the absence of the wound care nurse. I will
be recommending coworkers and peers to your program.
Betram Okorocha ADONCypress Creek Rehab in TX

I feel more confident doing my job, thank you very much for the education and
CEUs.
Dionne Tomlinson, LVN, Wound Care NursePark Manor of Quail Valley in TX

The test was challenging and the course materials are great in preparation for
the track of becoming a wound nurse
Derrick Niba, LVN, Charge Nurse Rockwall Nursing Care Center in TX

The program was very concise, educative and informative. I will surely recommend
this program to other nurses.
Agabus Dahn, LVNSaylor Lane Healthcare Center from CA

not only for myself, but my core nursing staff at Texan Nursing and Rehab. We
were able to complete the program at our own pace, and this benefited our hectic
schedules. Thank you for an amazing opportunity from our team!
Bianca Gonzalez, BSN, RN, IP Director of NursingTexan Nursing and Rehab in TX

I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in becoming wound care
certified. The course has improved my knowledge tremendously regarding wounds
and the proper interventions necessary to promote good healing.
Nicholas Filipinni

The study guide were very useful, and I learned about new dressings that were
more economical and very effective. Nurses should take the course because it’s
interesting and very helpful, the instruction is clear, and the administrators
are very helpful.
Ha Guyen

All of the modules that Vohra provides and the exams were not out of reach for
me. The program was very user-friendly: it was easy to go from module to module
without getting lost. And the knowledge that you gain . . . with medical
directors designing this, I don’t know that you can do any better than that. I
highly recommend the course to anyone looking to increase their wound care
knowledge!
Amanda MelynykThe Suites - Parker

I was so happy that you had something that was just right for me! The course was
very convenient, and I could do it on my own.  It covered a wide area of wound
care and a whole lot more areas than I anticipated. The lectures were enjoyable
-- I was interested, and I couldn’t wait to do the next module! I would
recommend this course to anyone!
Marilyn SmithMaternal Treasures Parent Care Center

Having a full-time Vohra Wound Certified Nurse on staff, along with the
knowledge brought by weekly visits from our Vohra physician, has allowed the
Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center team to continuously provide the
highest standards of care.
Stephanie Lessard, RNEastgate Nursing & Rehab

The Vohra Wound Certification program was an interesting course and it was very
helpful. I use the things that I learned in the course and I apply them when I’m
out on the floor.

Certification Inquiry
I would like more information regarding the Vohra Wound Care Certification.
Vohra Wound Physicians developed this practical and specialized educational
program as a result of the hard work of hundreds of physicians and decades of
practice in wound care. The program is offered exclusively online and consists
of 11 core modules, 3 optional modules, individual quizzes, downloadable study
guides, and a final exam. Our course is offered to any registered nurse (RN,
LPN, APRN, FNP, etc). There are no clinical hours required, our education
content including our quizzes, study guides, and final examination are to be
accessed and completed online. The Vohra Wound Care Course is nationally
recognized, it is self-paced, and it is the most widely used and least expensive
path to wound care certification nationwide. Many nurses have signed up for our
course simply because they to want to advance their careers and leverage their
knowledge and skills when it comes to wound care management in order to better
serve their patients. There are (2) different plans available for our program:
Wound Care Certification –RN, LPNs, LVNs / Facility based: To provide the best
educational value for our users, Vohra Wound Care combined the benefits of the
three (3) original Wound Care Certification options—the CNE Certificate, Wound
Care Certification + CNE Certificate, Wound Care Certificate—into one inclusive
offering, the Vohra Wound Care Certification, priced $650. The All New Wound
Care Certification –Home Health based RNs: We are also excited to announce an
all new Certification which is priced at $650. This course has been developed by
practicing wound care physicians with 20 years of experience in wound care. The
Continuing Education credits are approved by Maryland Nurses Association (MNA)
and recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The Maryland
Nurses Association (MNA) is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing
education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on
Accreditation (COA). The ANCC COA accreditation signifies that educational
activities approved by MNA meet national standards for quality continuing
nursing education. You will find the registration page and additional course
description following this link here Is this program offered to international
nurses? Yes! The program is offered to international nurses. How long does the
certification program take? The course is self-paced and consists of 11 core

available as soon as the course begins. The assignments and exams do not have
start or due dates. What if I fail the quizzes and/or final exam? You are
allowed unlimited attempts when taking the individual quizzes and final exam.
Can I still register for the program even if I do not have wound care
experience? You do not need to have experience in wound care in order to take
the course. Our course was developed to provide entry level knowledge to nurses
interested in wound care at an affordable price. What content does the course

 * Wound Healing
 * Wound Care Treatment Options

Will I be able to add any credentials to my name upon finishing the Vohra Wound
Care Certification? Yes, “Vohra Wound Care Nurse” or “VWCN” may be added to your
set of credentials. After successful completion of the final exam, you will
receive a certificate certifying you as a VWCN, Vohra Wound Certified Nurse. Our
program is not affiliated with any other national program. We are an independent
national physician group with over 20 years of experience in wound care
services. We developed this 100% online program as an affordable option for
nurses and other allied medical professionals to expand their knowledge and earn
a nationally recognized certificate as well as continuing nursing education
credits, if applicable (continuing nursing education credits only applicable for
the US). I’m not a nurse, am I still eligible to register for the certification
program? Allied health professionals including physicians, occupational
therapists, physical therapists, and medical assistants are eligible to take the
course and earn the certification. However, the continuing education credits are
only offered to nurses, that includes RNs, LPNs, LVNs, ARNPs. Are you affiliated
with the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO)? Our program was
developed by Vohra Wound Physicians, the largest group of wound clinicians in
the United States, with more than 20 years of clinical experience providing
wound care services to more than 2,500 skilled nursing facilities in 27 states,
with thousands of patients treated every month. The Vohra Wound Care
Certification is designed to share that level of experience and knowledge that
will empower you to become a wound care expert within your facility. While our
certification is not affiliated with the National Alliance of Wound Care and
Ostomy (NAWCO), you will still hold a set of credentials that represents Vohra’s
reputation for excellence. Furthermore, the CNE credits earned through the
program are approved by the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) and recognized by
the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC accreditation
signifies that educational activities approved by MNA meet national standards
for quality continuing nursing education. Having said that, please note that the
state licensing boards of California and Iowa have some exceptions to their
acceptance. Will I be able to take the state boards after taking the class?
After successful completion of the final exam, you will receive a certificate
credentialing you as a VWCN, Vohra Wound Certified Nurse. You will also earn
continuing education credits, as applicable. Vohra is recognized nationally as
an authority on wound care. However, our course was developed to provide entry
level knowledge to nurses interested in wound care at an affordable price but
was not written to specifically prepare individuals for the Board Certification
Exam. Which licensing boards accept the CNE credits? All RN licensing boards
nationwide acknowledge and accept contact hours from accredited providers. The
state licensing boards of California and Iowa have put some caveats on their
acceptance. Both the California Board of Registered Nursing and the Iowa board
say that if the provider ENTERS their state and presents an activity, the
provider must also apply to the that state’s board for approval, in order for
the nurses from CA and IA to use the contact hours for renewing their licenses.
The CA Board of Registered Nursing considers internet learning and other types
of home study to be out-of-state, unless the provider is located in CA. They are
in Sacramento, and their number is 916-322-3350. The Iowa Board of Nursing
considers internet and other types of home study to be in-state. Their number is
515-281-3255. Once I pass the course and earn my certificate, is there a
recertification process? Once you complete the program and earn your
certificate, it will stay active forever. Therefore, there is no recertification
process required. Do you have to complete any clinical hours as part of the
program? No, there are no clinical hours required. After taking and passing the
course can I put WCC down as a title? No, you will not be able to use WCC
initials after completion of our course. After successful completion of the
final exam, you will receive a certificate certifying you as a VWCN, Vohra Wound
Certified Nurse. This is different than a WCC certification which is a separate
program with WCEI. Our program is not affiliated with any other national
program. We are an independent national physician group with over 20 years of
experience in wound care services. We developed this 100% on line program as an
affordable option for nurses and other allied medical professionals to expand
their knowledge and earn a nationally recognized certificate as well as
continuing education credits, if applicable. Are the CNEs approved for Florida
(or any state other than California and Iowa) nurses? Yes, the CNEs are approved
for Florida nurses. The credits earned through the program are approved by the
Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) and are recognized by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC accreditation signifies that educational
activities approved by MNA meet national standards for quality continuing
nursing education. Are the CNEs approved for Iowa or California? The CNE credits
are approved by the Maryland Nurses Association (MNA) and recognized by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The Maryland Nurses Association
(MNA) is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation (COA).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

International Accreditation
Is this program certified? Vohra’s Wound Care Certification is internationally
accredited as a CPD program, compatible with the required Continuing
Professional Development global standards and benchmarks. What CPD stands for?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. Engaging in Continuing
Professional Development ensures that both academic and practical qualifications
do not become outdated or obsolete, allowing individuals to continually ‘up
skill’ or ‘re-skill’ themselves, regardless of occupation, age, or educational
level. Where is this accreditation accepted? Whilst based in the UK, the CPD
Certification Service accreditation operates internationally and meets the CPD
requirements and expectations for all professional bodies, regulators and
membership organizations across the globe. This means that a professional
attending an accredited CPD training activity outside of the UK can receive a
CPD Certificate of Attendance, which can then be used towards both national and
international CPD requirements. How is CPD recorded? An individual is
responsible of keeping track of their annual Continuing Professional Development
activities on a CPD record form and must ensure it is correct, up to date and
meets the requirements of their professional body of association. The CPD
undertaken is recorded by a CPD Certificate of Attendance, CPD Self-Assessment
forms and personal CPD Record Cards. Once a CPD certified activity has been
delivered, the attendee can update their CPD record sheet and attach the
associated certificate. What are the benefits of CPD? CPD helps individuals to
regularly focus on how they can become a more competent and effective
professional. Training and learning increases confidence, overall capability,
and compliments career aspirations. Who requires CPD? Most institutions provide
their members with Continuing Professional Development requirements generally as
a required annual number of hours. These CPD hours are sometimes converted to
points, units or credits. The majority of institutions allow members to choose
subjects of relevance to them as individuals, a minority also require their
members to seek CPD on a range of core subjects. More and more employers are
taking a proactive and supporting role with the CPD required by their employees.
Aside from industry associations, CPD’s importance within general enterprise is
growing, as more employers see the benefits of more highly skilled, motivated
and committed workforce.
