Independent Governance Committee (IGC) are pleased to invite you to this year’s
member forum.

Kia is the founder of the highly successful ‘Pennies to Pounds’ platform - a hub
created to empower young people to shape their future with complete financial
knowledge. Kia starred in the Channel 4 series, 'Money On My Mind' in
partnership with Barclays, as well as BBC Newsnight and Scotland Tonight. Kia
has also co-hosted the BBC 5 Live podcast, 'Your Work, Your Money', aimed to
help people navigate their finances through lockdown. Her work has been featured
in The Guardian, The Sun, Cosmopolitan and The Huffington Post and she has
worked with a number of globally recognised brands to create easy-to-understand
financial content.

 * KINNA PATEL
   
   
   KINNA PATEL: DC INVESTMENT DIRECTOR
   
   Kinna supports clients and their advisers with regards to LGIM’s DC
   investment and ESG capabilities, working closely with the investment teams
   for delivery of client solutions and product development as well as providing
   specialist investment support to our large strategic clients. Kinna has over
   10 years’ experience in DC pensions and prior to joining LGIM, Kinna was a DC
   Investment Consultant where she looked after a range of DC clients, leading
   on investment strategy design, fund selection and manager research. Kinna
   holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and CFA Level II.


 * BRIAN PATERSON
   
   
   BRIAN PATERSON: HEAD OF DC BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION
   
   Brian is a member of the DC Distribution senior leadership team, supporting
   strategic projects and overseeing client projects and reporting teams. With
   28 years of experience across Pensions, Workplace Investments and Employee
   Benefits sectors, Brian is an expert in his field and is responsible for
   onboarding large strategic clients. Brian is passionate about engaging with
   members on pensions and regularly presents to them about what it means to be
   part of a pension scheme and making their money work for them.


 * JAYESH PATEL
   
   
   JAYESH PATEL: HEAD OF DC CLIENTS
   
   At Legal & General Jayesh is responsible for Legal & General DC Workplace,
   IOP and institutional client relationships. Jayesh joined Legal & General in
   January 2024 and was previously Co-Head of the DC Consulting Team at WTW,
   where he was jointly responsible for the UK DC team’s client, colleague and
   financial management.
   
   Jayesh has 20 years of experience in DC pensions and has worked as the lead
   consultant for a number of large corporate and trustee clients. He is
   experienced in providing clear advice on all areas of DC pension plans
   including scheme design, investment strategy, financial wellbeing, retirement
   support and governance.


 * KIM BROWN
   
   
   KIM BROWN: HEAD OF THE MASTERTRUST AND INDEPENDENT GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE
   
   Kim joined Legal & General in February 2020 as Head of the Mastertrust and
   Independent Governance Committee. Before that, she worked for The Pensions
   Regulator for 12 years in a number of roles including being responsible for
   both the design and delivery of master trust authorisation and supervision.
   
   Kim is also an independent board member of the Judicial Pension Scheme and
   sits on the DC board at the PLSA. 
   
   She has a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and is Chair of
   the Pensions Equity Group, fighting for pensions equality, initially by
   prioritising a joined up approach to tackling the Gender Pensions Gap. Kim
   has appeared on 'A Little Bit Richer' with our host Kia; a podcast offering
   bite-sized money management tips.
