<p style="text-align:left;">As part of our heightened surveillance and to reduce the risk of infection, we have updated our visitor policy: </p>
<ul class="my-3">
<li>In line with the latest MOH COVID-19 safety measures for hospitals to reduce potential transmission, we will not be accepting ward visitors from <strong>24 Jan 2022 to 20 Mar 2022</strong> (both dates
inclusive). Please do not come to the hospital during this period. Exceptions may be granted for patients who are critically ill or require additional caregiver support.</li>
<li>Visitors who are allowed to visit on exceptional basis will need to produce a valid negative antigen rapid test (ART) result obtained within the last 24 hours of the visit. All tests are to be self-funded.
This is a mandatory requirement for all visitors regardless of vaccination status, except for persons who have recovered from COVID-19 and are able to present a valid Pre-Event Test (PET) exemption notice.</li>
<li>Fully vaccinated or medically ineligible visitors can perform self-administered ART or opt for ART administered by MOH-approved COVID-19 test providers (including tests performed at Quick Test Centres) for
purpose of fulfilling the pre-visit testing requirement (check <a href="http://go.gov.sg/swabproviders" target="_blank" style="color: black;">http://go.gov.sg/swabproviders</a>). Fully vaccinated or medically
ineligible visitors who opt to undergo self-administered ART will be required to show evidence of a valid ART result, e.g. present a time-stamped photo of the dated ART result and photo ID for verification
prior to entry.</li>
<li>Non-fully vaccinated visitors would be required to show results of ART administered or supervised by MOH-approved COVID-19 test providers (including Quick Test Centres). Results from unsupervised
self-administered ART will not be accepted for this group of visitors.</li>
<li>Caregivers or visitors are not allowed to eat or drink, sit on patients’ beds and use patients’ toilets in the wards.</li>

<p>𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗶𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵<br><br>Patients often tell occupational therapist (OT) Divya Murugan that they are unsure how she can help them…what exactly is an OT anyway? Well,
“occupation” here refers to any meaningful activity we engage in, says Divya who has worked at KTPH for three years. “Our role is to consider the patient’s lifestyle holistically and take actions to best
allow them to participate in meaningful activities.” This can mean providing training for caregivers of elderly patients, helping patients who have recovered from injury go back to their daily activities,
or coordinating with external partners to support patients in the community.<br><br>Sometimes, the task can be as simple as getting a patient to sit up and talk – although this can be harder than it
sounds. One such patient she encountered – in his 80s, bound with chronic conditions and terminally ill – resisted sitting up or interacting with others. But her team persevered until the patient finally
communicated his wants, and they talked him around to do simple activities he enjoyed, like viewing the scenery from the garden and listening to music together. “After he passed on, his daughters thanked
us for encouraging their father to express his love for them. That really put a smile on our faces.”<br><br>Having cared for COVID-19 patients for the past few months, Divya also shares that it has taught
her the significance of providing emotional support for patients. “Many feel scared because COVID-19 is something new and unknown. It is lonely as they are unable to physically meet or touch their family
members while in isolation,” she says. “Besides ensuring that they are cared for, it is also important for us to be their pillar of support and reassure them that everything will be ok.”<br><br>#YHpeople

Please do not come to the hospital during this period. Exceptions may be granted for patients who are critically ill or require additional caregiver support. * Visitors who are allowed to visit on exceptional basis will need to produce a valid negative antigen rapid test (ART) result obtained within the last 24 hours of the visit. All tests are to be self-funded. This is a mandatory requirement for all visitors regardless of vaccination status, except for persons who have recovered from COVID-19 and are able to present a valid Pre-Event Test (PET) exemption notice. * Fully vaccinated or medically ineligible visitors can perform self-administered ART or opt for ART administered by MOH-approved COVID-19 test providers (including tests performed at Quick Test Centres) for purpose of fulfilling the pre-visit testing requirement (check http://go.gov.sg/swabproviders). Fully vaccinated or medically ineligible visitors who opt to undergo self-administered ART will be required to show evidence of a valid ART result, e.g. present a time-stamped photo of the dated ART result and photo ID for verification prior to entry. * Non-fully vaccinated visitors would be required to show results of ART administered or supervised by MOH-approved COVID-19 test providers (including Quick Test Centres). Results from unsupervised self-administered ART will not be accepted for this group of visitors. * Caregivers or visitors are not allowed to eat or drink, sit on patients’ beds and use patients’ toilets in the wards. Well, “occupation” here refers to any meaningful activity we engage in, says Divya who has worked at KTPH for three years. “Our role is to consider the patient’s lifestyle holistically and take actions to best allow them to participate in meaningful activities.” This can mean providing training for caregivers of elderly patients, helping patients who have recovered from injury go back to their daily activities, or coordinating with external partners to support patients in the community. Sometimes, the task can be as simple as getting a patient to sit up and talk – although this can be harder than it sounds. One such patient she encountered – in his 80s, bound with chronic conditions and terminally ill – resisted sitting up or interacting with others. But her team persevered until the patient finally communicated his wants, and they talked him around to do simple activities he enjoyed, like viewing the scenery from the garden and listening to music together. “After he passed on, his daughters thanked us for encouraging their father to express his love for them. That really put a smile on our faces.” Having cared for COVID-19 patients for the past few months, Divya also shares that it has taught her the significance of providing emotional support for patients. “Many feel scared because COVID-19 is something new and unknown.
