    No fish... is it just me?
    I remember my first trip to the OBX. Must have been 35 or 40 years ago.
    Caught fish the entire time... spot, blues, pomps, mullet, puppy drum... but
    mostly spot and small blues. As the years and trips ticked off there was a
    lot more fishing than catching. I have spent a week fishing everyday...

    Surf City Fishing Pier
    I check out the surf cam located on Daddy Macs that has the pier in the
    background. I hardly ever see anyone on the pier fishing, even on good days.
    Twelve dollars per rod for a day pass and limited parking. Seems steep to
    me. I wonder if that cuts back on the fishing traffic?

    I have been to Cherry Grove for the last 5 years or so, typically around mid
    Oct. to early Nov. I have seen a few pics and heard some people say there
    are Pompano there, but I have never caught one. I go to the Gulf of Mexico
    each year during the Spring for the Pompano run, and usually are...

    Pier fishing with Carolina rigs
    Guys I want to really try to concentrate on Carolina rigs with live bait off
    the pier in August. So in regards to the sinkers. Can I get some opinions
    and advice? if I am more shallow on the pier closer to the breaks in waves
    near beach should I be using flat sinkers vs egg? Does it matter...
