MULTICALORICS II

Submission Deadline: July 31, 2024Contribute to this Special Topic

Multicalorics combines magnetocaloric, electrocaloric, and mechanocaloric
effects, and induces thermal changes driven simultaneously or sequentially by
external stimulus. Multicaloric materials and devices are promising candidates
for solid-state cooling technologies that are energy efficient and
environmentally friendly. This Special Topic will provide scientists and
engineers a common forum for sharing important advances in the synthesis,
characterization, and application of multicaloric materials, together with
theory, computational methods, and experimental methods. This will not only
contribute to the current understanding of the relevant phenomena and their
practical application and implementation, but also stimulate future research and
cross-fertilization.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

 * Synthesis and characterization of multicaloric materials and devices
 * Theory, computational methods, and experimental methods for characterization
   and understanding multicaloric (magnetocaloric, electrocaloric,
   elastocaloric, barocaloric) effects
 * Structuring, shaping, and designs of multicalorics

 * Thermodynamics of multicaloric effects and physics in multicaloric cooling
 * Composites for multiferroics, multicalorics, magnetoelectrics, etc.
 * Applications of multicaloric materials and devices

SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:

Manuscripts considered for publication in Journal of Applied Physics are
expected to meet the journal’s standard of acceptance: to report on original and
timely results that significantly advance understanding in contemporary applied
physics. Material that is exclusively review in nature is not considered for
publication. Manuscripts submitted for consideration in this Special Topic must
meet the same criteria and will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review
process. The Editorial Team of Journal of Applied Physics will issue final
decisions on the submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts will publish immediately
upon acceptance.

For more information on the journal’s editorial policies, please click here.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system
(PXP) of Journal of Applied Physics. Please select the Special
Topic “Multicalorics II” to submit your manuscript for consideration in this
Special Topic.
