THEIR STORY



On October 1, 2013, while attending the University of Florida during their
freshman year, Sydney received a list of fraternity pledge drivers (sober
designated drivers) for Tuesday evening. Due to the similarities of their last
names, Sydney Brodie picked Tommy Brodsky from the list, which led them to meet
for the first time (although Tommy claims he knew of the beautiful Sydney before
their encounter). After that night, they knew they would play a vital role in
each other's lives. With twists and turns, Sydney and Tommy lived out their
freshman year before becoming official in their sophomore year. As social chairs
of their respective fraternities, the two became socialites on campus, and for
some odd reason, Delta Gamma had quite the social schedule with Zeta Beta Tau!
After graduating in 2017, the couple moved to New York City to begin their
careers. Managing their jobs and relationships in the real world was a journey,
causing the two to spend time apart and get their shit together. That was until
Tommy stood outside Sydney’s office holding a dozen roses in Times Square for
several hours, waiting for her to leave in November 2019. The time spent apart
was crucial to their relationship being as strong as it is today and set the
foundation for their forever future. In October 2020, the two moved into the
quaint neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, and it was here Sydney finally
convinced Tommy to bring home a Golden Retriever (she’s been wanting for
decades!), and they were blessed with Bennett - the perfect doggie addition to
their mini family. In April 2022, Tommy got down on one knee in the heart of
DUMBO, Brooklyn - their favorite place - where he presented Sydney with the
forever promise she could only dream of. The day concluded with a celebratory
dinner at The River Cafe - a perfect conclusion to the most perfect day, even if
Sydney’s hair did catch on fire! If you haven’t seen the video, please send
through a formal request ;) After living in NYC for five years (and after many
years of convincing), Sydney, Tommy, and Bennett moved to West Palm Beach,
Florida, to anchor themselves in paradise for the foreseeable future. This
wedding will celebrate everyone who joined Sydney and Tommy on their greatest
adventure. We thank you and can’t wait to party with you!!
