<p>When you visit a website, your computer stores tiny pieces of data from the site so that its pages will display faster during return visits. Most computers store such files in a cache file or a folder called
“Temporary Internet Files.” Occasionally the files can become corrupt or outdated and need to be deleted.</p>
<p>To clear your browser's cache (temporary internet files), follow these steps:</p>
<p><strong>Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x (Windows)</strong></p>

<li>Click <strong>Tools</strong> in the enhanced browser toolbar and select <strong>Internet Options</strong>.</li>
<li>In the Browsing History section, click <strong>Delete.</strong></li>
<li>Click <strong>Delete Files</strong> in the Temporary Internet Files section of the Delete Browsing History window. Do not click Delete All. The Delete All feature will remove all cookies, passwords, and
history from all other websites as well as Vanguard's.</li>
<li>Click <strong>Yes</strong> in the Delete Files window and click <strong>Close</strong>.</li>

<p>Your "paycheck deduction" is the amount of money taken from your paycheck and put into your retirement plan.</p>
<h2>Annual increase</h2>
<p>"Annual increase" is an optional feature that helps you save more money for retirement by automatically increasing your paycheck deduction each year.</p>
<h2>Savings cap</h2>
<p>Your "savings cap" is the highest percentage allowed for your paycheck deduction. You can change your savings cap, but the lowest and highest percentage you can choose is determined by your plan rules.</p>

<p>"Termination" means leaving your employer for any reason. Examples include retiring, getting a new job, being fired, and being laid off.</p>

<p>There are six options to choose from when your plan has been terminated. Certain plans allow you to combine options while other plans don’t allow certain options at all:</p>

<p>A "cash-out" is when you take all the money out of your retirement plan. You can only do this if you no longer work for the business that provides your retirement plan.</p>

<p>"Annual increase" is an optional feature that helps you save more money for retirement by automatically increasing your paycheck deduction each year.</p>

<p>Your "savings cap" is the highest percentage allowed for your paycheck deduction. You can change your savings cap, but the lowest and highest percentage you can choose is determined by your plan rules.</p>

How do I disable my popup blocker?

toolbars, such as Google Toolbar and Yahoo! Companion include popup blockers

blocker, as most manufacturers keep this information in their online help
files.
3. Stand-alone blockers: You can also purchase or download applications that
block popup windows and other advertisements as part of an overall security
package. These include applications such as Popup Stopper, Ad-Subtract, and
Ad-Aware, as well as firewall or antivirus applications including Norton
Internet Security and Zone Alarm. We recommend that you check the
manufacturer's website or the help files for the application for
instructions for disabling the popup blocker.
Note: Most popup blockers running on Windows computers can be temporarily

You may be using an outdated bookmark or favorite. Type http://www.vanguard.com
in your browser's address bar, click Enter, and try logging on again. If this
doesn't work, you may need to clear your browser's cache. (See What are

Other possible explanations:
* Number lock is off. If you're entering the numerical portion of your password
from the number keypad, make sure that the number lock indicator is on. If
not, press the Num Lock key.
* Your internet service provider may be experiencing problems. Try again later,

What are cookies and why must my browser accept them?
Cookies and other similar data files are tiny pieces of information that we ask
your browser to store. If your browser doesn't accept cookies, you won't be able
to view your account information online.
Vanguard.com uses two types of these data files:
Session cookies. These data files are temporary cookies that are deleted when
you shut down your browser, when you log off, or after your computer is inactive
for 15 minutes. These cookies let us know that you have logged on and they allow
us to maintain your privacy as you move from page to page. They also act as
timers, logging you off after prolonged inactivity to prevent unauthorized
account access.
Permanent or persistent cookies/data files. These types of data files are stored
on your hard drive and are read by your browser each time you visit our website.
They are used to remember which investments you entered in your Watch List,
which funds you're tracking through Outside Investments, the results from your
last visit to our Narrow Your Fund Choices tool, and to help verify your
identity when you try to access your account information or initiate an online
transaction. We also use them if we need to send you important messages while
you're online.
Important notes:
* We use data files such as cookies only when alternative means are not
practical or available.
* We disclose all uses of these data files on this page.
* We limit the size of our cookies to 4 kilobytes. (It would take about 20
million cookies to fill a 2-gigabyte hard drive.)
* You may receive multiple cookies or similar data files during each visit to
Vanguard.com. For example, when you navigate within a secure area, temporary
cookies may be created each time you leave a page.

How can I tell which operating system I am using?
If you're using a Windows operating system, you can double-click My Computer (on
your desktop or in your Start menu). In the resulting window, click the Help
menu, then About Windows. The version of Windows will display. If you're using a
Macintosh operating system, you'll see an apple in the top left corner of your
screen. To check which Mac operating system you're running, click the apple and
then choose About This Mac (or About This Computer). The version of the
Macintosh operating system will display.

What are temporary internet files and how can I delete them?
When you visit a website, your computer stores tiny pieces of data from the site
so that its pages will display faster during return visits. Most computers store
such files in a cache file or a folder called “Temporary Internet Files.”
Occasionally the files can become corrupt or outdated and need to be deleted.
To clear your browser's cache (temporary internet files), follow these steps:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x (Windows)
* Click Tools in the enhanced browser toolbar and select Internet Options.
* In the Browsing History section, click Delete.
* Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet Files section of the Delete
Browsing History window. Do not click Delete All. The Delete All feature will
remove all cookies, passwords, and history from all other websites as well as
Vanguard's.
* Click Yes in the Delete Files window and click Close.
* Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.x or higher
* Click the Tools menu, then select Internet Options.
* Under the Browsing History section, click Delete.
* Place a check only next to Temporary Internet Files. Uncheck all other boxes
in the list.
* Click Delete.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 Metro
* From any webpage in Internet Explorer, place cursor in the bottom right
corner.
* Click on the Settings or the gear icon.
* Choose Internet Options.
* Under Delete Browsing History, choose Delete. (Please note: Clicking Delete
will remove all browsing data and won't give you the option to choose
specifics.)
Google Chrome 35.x and higher (Windows or Mac)
* Click the paper icon in the upper-right corner.
* Select Settings.
* Click Show advanced settings at the bottom of the page.
* Under the Privacy heading, click Clear browsing data.
* Under the Obliterate the following items from, set the dropdown menu to the
Beginning of time.
* Uncheck all options except Empty the cache. Under Clear data from the period,
set the dropdown menu to Everything, then click Clear browsing data.
Firefox 30.x (Windows or Mac)
* Click the Tools menu and select Clear recent history.
* Under Time range to clear, set the drop-down menu to Everything.
* Uncheck all options except Cache.
* Click Clear now .
Safari 5.0
* Click the Safari menu, then choose Empty Cache.
* Click Empty to confirm. For best results, quit Safari and relaunch it.
Safari 6.x or higher
* Click the Safari menu, then choose Preferences.
* Click the Privacy tab.
* Click Remove all website data.

How can I get pages to load faster?
Heavy Internet traffic or problems with your internet service provider are the
most likely causes when web pages load slowly. If you use a dial-up connection,
try logging off the internet and reconnecting through a different access number.
You may need to clear your browser cache. (See What are temporary Internet files
and how can I delete them? for more information.)
Sometimes Web browser settings or third-party firewall settings can interfere
with the performance of a website. Please try loading our website with your Web
browser or firewall settings at the default levels set by the manufacturers.

A "hardship withdrawal" can only be used to pay for an immediate and serious
financial need. You'll most likely need to provide documentation to prove your
hardship.

WHAT IS A CASH-OUT?
A "cash-out" is when you take all the money out of your retirement plan. You can
only do this if you no longer work for the business that provides your
retirement plan.

This means transferring money into your Vanguard retirement plan from a
qualified retirement plan or individual retirement account (IRA).

WHAT IS PAYCHECK DEDUCTION?
Your "paycheck deduction" is the amount of money taken from your paycheck and
put into your retirement plan.
ANNUAL INCREASE
"Annual increase" is an optional feature that helps you save more money for
retirement by automatically increasing your paycheck deduction each year.
SAVINGS CAP
Your "savings cap" is the highest percentage allowed for your paycheck
deduction. You can change your savings cap, but the lowest and highest
percentage you can choose is determined by your plan rules.

PAYMENT AMOUNT

PAYMENT OPTIONS
* Electronic bank transfer (EBT) - Send the money directly to your bank
account. The transfer takes 3-4 business days if you already have EBT set up.
Setting up EBT puts an automatic 10-day hold on your account.
* Check - Send a check by U.S. mail. It typically takes 7-10 business days for
Vanguard to receive the check. You can send a cashier's check, bank check, or
money order, but not a personal check. Your printed loan payment form must be
sent with the check.

WHAT IS A BENEFICIARY?
A "beneficiary" is a person you choose to inherit your retirement plan savings
in the event of your death. Many plans require you to name your spouse as your
beneficiary if you're married.
TYPES OF BENEFICIARIES
* Primary beneficiary - Receives your assets after your death. If he or she is
deceased at the time of your death, his or her share of your assets will be
divided among your surviving primary beneficiaries (if any).
* Contingent beneficiary - Receives your assets only if you have no surviving
primary beneficiaries at the time of your death.

UNCHANGEABLE INFO
Certain plans don't allow you to change your personal info on Vanguard.com. If
you move to a new address or change your name and aren't able to change that
information on the website, please contact your employer's human resources

INVESTMENT CHANGE OPTIONS
There are four different ways you can change the way your retirement savings are
invested:
* Exchange funds - Move an exact amount of your current balance between your
funds.
* Change current investment mix - Change the percentage of your retirement
savings in each of your funds.
* Change paycheck investment mix - Change the percentage of your paycheck that
goes into each of your funds.
* Rebalance account - Automatically match your current and paycheck investment
mixes. Certain plans don't allow this option.
WHAT IS AN ASSET MIX?
Your asset mix is how the money in your retirement plan is spread between
stocks, bonds, and short-term reserves.

WHAT IS A TERMINATION?
"Termination" means leaving your employer for any reason. Examples include
retiring, getting a new job, being fired, and being laid off.
YOUR PLAN OPTIONS AFTER TERMINATION
There are six options to choose from when your plan has been terminated. Certain
plans allow you to combine options while other plans don’t allow certain options
at all:
* Rollover to a Vanguard IRA - Move your money to an individual retirement
account with Vanguard.
* Leave your money in the plan - Leave your money where it is for as long as
your plan allows.
* Rollover to another qualified retirement plan - Move your money to a
qualified retirement plan outside Vanguard.
* Rollover to an IRA at another provider - Move your money to an individual
retirement plan outside Vanguard.
* Withdraw cash - Take all the money from your plan in one payment. Taxes may
apply.
* Set up retirement plan paychecks - Take the money from your plan in periodic
payments. Taxes may apply.
