CROWDSTRIKE.

What have you done. This is why MIT App Inventor was crashing for me.
Technically it's your fault for hogging up all the storage space, but honestly
I'm in that kind of trouble too.

In the words of Livakivi:

"And what the [Hi!] is this [Come on.]? And why do I have to make a Microsoft
account just to install an operating system? And why do I have to log in to
clear my local browsing history on Edge? And now you're telling me I can't even
play Minecraft without a Microsoft account? Absolutely disgusting. Unbelievable,
actually."

I figured out that from my home to a Belle Province location, ~4% of screens
have a blue screen on them. Whether that'd be the Recovery screen:

Or just a blue screen that I didn't see very well.

That's the end of my statement. Verdict: Crowdstrike is added to my list of
enemies.

AMAZING NEWS!

Today, I would like to give you great news.

I found BEAN SIMULATOR!

The original!

I know it's been over a month since I've posted. Truth is, I have a VERY busy
life. I don't usually have time to blog, sadly. But I'll do it whenever I have
news.

There it is.

The original BEAN SIMULATOR.

Free for you all to copy it.

Also, I'm working on a remastered version that's accessible to a wider audience
so you can all play it without an EV3.

See you when it's ready to go.

OUR FIRST GDEVELOP GAME

On 10, we rate GDevelop...2.

Play Con!

Welcome back! Near the end of 2023, we experimented with making a game in
GDevelop. Yeah, GDevelop? Anybody use that? Anyways, as we stated earlier, we
rate GDevelop 2/10.

Pros of GDevelop

 * You can easily make platformers
 * There's an asset store
 * That's it lol

Cons of GDevelop

 * Doesn't have the most user-friendly UI
 * Max 10 cloud projects without upgrading
 * Impossible to update games published on gd.games

The cons of GDevelop outweigh the pros of GDevelop. Yet we still pushed on, and,
honestly... The game is okay. We rate it 3/10. Yes! We rate our OWN GAME 3/10.
Sounds dumb, right? ...Well play the game and look at its graphics and yeah,
it's... not very good. But whatever.

And to add to the blood, sweat, tears and added stress of using a new game
engine, we added a time limit! We started at 9AM and had to finish our project
by 4PM. Yes! 7-8... HOURS! I kid you not! Now THAT's stressful. You think your
3rd grade final exams were stressful? THIS IS STRESSFUL!

Anyways, the game's called Con, based off of a device file in MS-DOS (yes,
MS-DOS) and Windows. The code name was "Unnamed Testificate 1" and... it...
doesn't... really... have a story line. It just kinda shoves 2 levels with
absolutely no thought put into them.

...So if you want to play this abomination, click on the link at the top of the
post.

GAME PREVIEW 4: BLIMPS (BEAN SIMULATOR 2)

GAME INFO:

Name: Blimps
Sequel of: BEAN SIMULATOR (files now lost to time)
Engine used: Unity (version 2021.3)
Under development?: Yes
Download available?: Yes (although only an older version)
Note: The post was originally posted (lol) on January 7 2024. An update is
available below, posted on June 6 2024.

POST:

Today, we'll be talking about a game we've never really talked about before.
Sorry that we haven't mentioned it! It was because the development for it was
halted for like, a year before we decided to come back to it. So here we are!

TODAY'S GAME: BLIMPS! (A.K.A. BEAN SIMULATOR 2)

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!! I know some of you might not be in Vietnam, but it's
funny okay? Yep, this belongs in my blog.

But we're not here to talk about some random joke one of my friends came up with
and told his class. We're here to talk about our newest invention (if you can
even call it that due to the fact that it's not even done), Blimps!

Also known as BEAN SIMULATOR 2, Blimps is going to be an open-world but
story-based game. It is currently being made in
unityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy or as I shall now call it, Brackeys' Hope.

In Blimps, you fly on... a blimp! Who could have thought? You explore realms of
flying, discover and... do STUFF! WOW STUFF! SO COOL! lol - anyway.

Also right now Dasanimations is roasting me and I can't work on a blog post,
work on a meme, respond to Google Chat messages and moderate them too all at the
same time. But whatever.

The newest addition to the project is the Water Gun, the first weapon. It's
almost complete, but not quite done.

However, handling water in video games is extremely difficult. Well, it's not
really water that's difficult, it's more liquid in general. This is because
liquids are:

 1. Not solid.

 2. They are liquids lol.

 3. (more in-depth explanation of #2) Because handling and rendering liquids
take up a lot of processing power, can devastatingly lower the overall
performance of the game on older, less powerful machines and it just
involves a lot of math in general that is WAYYY over the skill level I'm at.

What's the solution? A solid blue sphere that we have to call "water". Press the
F key on your keyboard to shoot a "water droplet". These are solid (as in they
have a collision box) and don't look like water whatsoever. Oh well, it's video
game logic. Why is any given player in Minecraft possible to hold multiple
statues of liberty? The answer is: video game logic! These "water droplets" will
be deleted if either of the following conditions are met:

 1. The water droplet goes to Y level -501 or lower.
 2. The water droplet has existed for 5 seconds.

The reason why these water droplets end up being deleted if either of these 2
conditions are met is for performance and power usage reasons. Without the lines
of code used to do this, computers running our game would constantly have to use
up power and performance calculating the movement of possibly millions of blue
spheres and rendering moving 3D objects that you can barely even see. Trust me,
this is for the better good.

So that's it for now! I'll see you in the next one. Bye!

UPDATE NOTICE: 2024-06-06

Here's a version of the photo on top as a JPG instead. In case you wanted to use
it for Idle Game Maker, or if you can't see PNGs.

GAME PREVIEW 3: ROLLING QUEST

Published on December 9 2023, updated on June 6 2024

Told you that we would be working on Rolling Quest. This post was originally
gonna be posted as a devlog on the game's itch.io page, but we cancelled that in
favour of posting this post onto our main 9Studio blog.

TODAY'S GAME: ROLLING QUEST!

Download the game!

Aw yeah, you knew it was coming back. And it came back! Today we'll be talking
about the latest update for Rolling Quest. After that we'll give you the
download link. Now, what's new? Well, what you see on screen by the top: the new
2nd level! This level will test your skills in the form of seeing how good you
are at controlling the marble. The update doesn't add anything else, though:
more content will be coming in 0.3, and more content in 0.3 there will be! But
for now, that's it, and we'll see you guys tommorow: bye!

UPDATE ON 2024-06-06

Same as the Blimps one, JPG version of the image:

GAME PREVIEW 2: COLLECT A PLUSHY!

Note: If you haven't read them, go check out our other Game Previews! The first
one will give you a sense of what's gonna happen in this series.

Above image shows an in development experience. We have no guarantee that this
will be the final style. Any information found in this post is unfinished, as in
the contents of this post and announcements in this post can change at any time
during the development process of this experience.

TODAY'S GAME: COLLECT A PLUSHY!

You know Pokémon? Yeah, you know what I mean. We all love the catch-em-all
experience and the battles, but isn't it a little cost-inefficient? Pokémon
Scarlet and Violet each cost $79.99 CAD or $80 CAD. The Pokémon Scarlet and
Pokémon Violet Double Pack costs $159.99 CAD or $160 CAD. That's DOUBLE the
price of both games. And what for? To catch digital pets and send them into
battle. Twice. There IS Pokémon GO on the App Store and the Google Play Store
and it's free, but, especially in Winter or when there's lots of snow, I don't
think people will enjoy playing a game that requires you to go outside just to
do the same thing you can pay for for $80 CAD or $160 CAD at your house. There's
also Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon: Let's Go,
Eevee!, but let's be real, all of these basically cost the same as Scarlet and
Violet. That's where we come in!

Imagine your average Pokémon experience, but instead of playing it on your
console, you play it on ANY device that has a web browser and a way to store
text notes. Yes, that does mean you could almost play this on your Nintendo 3DS,
or how I prefer playing them... a New Nintendo 2DS XL. I did bother writing that
on a blog post and saying it in my mind. Anyways, point is the idea is that you
surf around social media and also the internet and (if posted by us) you could
find a link to a website wherein you can get a plushy. It'll have 7 stats and a
couple of attacks. You will add it to a file stored on your computer. It can
have any name, but it must be in TXT (Windows Notepad), RTF (Microsoft WordPad),
MD (Markdown, any system) or PDF (Any system) format. Be careful, once you find
a plushy but you already have the same plushy in your plushy list, if you choose
to keep the new plushy the old plushy must be removed from your list.

Every once in a while, we'll be hosting a Plushy Tournament! You will be able to
sign up by commenting on the blog post that announces the next Plushy
Tournament. Therefore, this blog post does not count. In the Plushy Tournaments,
you send one of your plushies in battle against a random opponent. The two of
you will use the Comments section of the blog post that will be released right
after the announcement post to battle. The way it will work is one of the
players will post a comment and say in the comment the Blogger username of the
opponent. The two of you will use the attacks that the plushy you chose has
provided. It'll be just like a Pokémon battle.

So that's all we got now. We'll post on the blog when Collect a Plushy! will be
ready for release. Until then, be patient, and yes, the next Rolling Quest Game
Preview is coming.

GAME PREVIEW 1: ROLLING QUEST

Hello and welcome!

Today marks our first ever Game Preview, where we give a preview of a game we're
working on. Expect us to talk about stuff tied to the development of our game.
We'll also give an image preview of the game, and, if possible, we'll give a
download to the game!

THIS WEEK'S GAME: ROLLING QUEST!

Rolling Quest is a 2D maze-solving game where a red, unhappy marble stars as the
player. Your goal? To complete every maze! The mazes have themes tied to them.
There will be 10 themes in total, each in a completely different setting. The
maze on screen is a space station level. In this theme, you climb down a space
station, from top to bottom, before entering the next theme.

The game is built with the programming language Scratch, an easy-to-understand
2D programming language that supports pretty much everything that a standard 2D
programming language supports. More specifically, Rolling Quest is made with the
modded Scratch editor TurboWarp.

DOWNLOAD LINK

To download this game, visit this link: it will bring you to the massive game
sharing platform itch.io, which we moved to. Installation instructions are
available on the game's itch.io page.
