and SaaS transformation across VMware's engineering organization.  Previously he

the lead architect for the vRealize Operations Suite. At the start of his
career, he was the technical lead behind the creation, development, and delivery
of the vMotion and Storage vMotion features in vSphere.

Kubernetes, Microsoft, Cisco, and Amazon Web Services.

understand the design principle of networking in VMware Cloud on AWS, and how to
connect to native AWS services. We accomplished the session with a demo of the
application running on VMware Cloud on AWS SDDC. We reconfigured the application
to use AWS DocumentDB provisioned in the connected VPC.

Michael Fittler, Dipl. Verwaltungswirt (FH) (B.Sc. in Public Management),
is a co-founder of focusnet. He shaped the company’s profile together with his
co-founders since the very first days of focusnet in 2006.

At first Michael was more involved in a strategic level of business development
with focusnet, this was due to his main profession being a criminal
investigation detective with the Berlin Police Department. In the line of
duty Michael worked in different departments including counter-terrorism and
special-operations units. He was constantly involved in areas associated with
IT-security and technology. Because of this main profession social
responsibility also played a major role in his life.

While focusnet grew, Michael got more involved in the company’s business
operation, mainly because of his strong leadership skills and his vision for a
better future for everyone working in and on resilient and sustainable IT
systems. His practical skills and knowledge of complex IT systems added to the
value that he brought to his company.

From 2016 he started to design the cloud setup and cloud operation business that
became the core component of focusnet today. By 2019 Michael decided to fully
commit to his company and retired from the police department after 13 years of
duty.

Today he brings his professional experience of both worlds together in his
position as co-founder and Director of Cloud Services with a strong commitment
to grow the company in a sustainable and socially responsible way that
contributes to a better future for everyone.

Vicki Vaughn, an experienced marketing director and leader at VMware, takes

Bill Roth is the Director of the Cloud Economics group in the Cloud
Infrastructure Business Group at VMware. He is a 30-year veteran of the
enterprise software industry. He has been a CMO for startups, an evangelist, run

has worked for such companies as BEA, Sun, Morgan Stanley, and several startups.

This talk will cover the data from VMware's Cloud Economics practice. We'll
discuss how we've saved customers money in over 2500 engages with VMware's Cloud
Economics team. We discuss the structure of our Economic Model, and talk about
the Total Cost of Ownership, and what we believe should included. Then will
discuss the overall findings of how and when customers save money, and when they
don't. We'll also present a Reverse TCO, where we look at what a customer
actually saved after deployment and putting their workloads into production.

In this talk, you'll hear about three types of metrics that organizations are
using to get better at building and running software. You know, those
organizations that are doing the 'digital transformation' thing so that they can
run their business with software that isn't ancient and lame. BE LIKE A TECH
COMPANY. We all know development and operations metrics like lead time, error
budgets, and mean time to repair. But we don't focus on business metrics enough.
And least of all, we don't talk about internal, organization, or 'culture'
metrics enough. This talk gives an overview of 15 metrics across three types:
technical metrics, business metrics, and culture metrics. If we look at the
end-to-end process of software creation, usage, and work as an system to be
programmed and refined, we need metrics across that entire system. This talk
will help get you started.
