necessitates that India engages and consolidates her Maritime interests. For this, Quad is not a comprehensive enabler in the contemporary multipolar contested construct of a rising China and a reducing US clout. Indian Space
Technology is the most potent yet underscored soft power of India. Enmeshing this potential to address the conundrum into a smart power for security and prosperity is key to securing Indian maritime interests.</div>

<div>2.<span style="white-space:pre"> </span><u>Focus</u>. <span style="white-space:pre"> </span>The country’s sea dependence is 90% of international trade by volume, 70% by value and 93% cumulatively for oil needs. This
increased dependence alongside expanding interests in the IOR to the Indo-Pacific Region exemplifies the need for linkages in this region based on a solid foundation to attain and secure Indian Maritime Interests. Indian
Space Technology being the foremost Instrument of Indian Soft Power has the capability to be such a foundation. </div>

<div>3.<span style="white-space:pre"> </span><u>Conundrum</u>. The challenge to the current world order posed by China has placed India at a critical juncture. India’s vision@2047 is a major hindrance to China as it seeks
to be the regional hegemon for springboarding to ‘the World power’. China has outpaced us in consolidating and securing its interests in the Indo-pacific Region. Indian attempts to bridge the gap through Quad is limited
particularly since it is nothing more than a Comity of convergence of interests. </div>

<div>4.<span style="white-space:pre"> </span><u>Areas of interest</u>. This research on - Indo-Pacific Multi-National Space Technology Cooperation (IPMSTC) - An Enabler for Indian Maritime Interests Beyond Quad focusses on
relevance of Quad to realise Indian Maritime Interests, defining the scope and objectives of IPMSTC including its scope for strategic ISR and Military Space Technology Applications. The questionnaire is aimed to seek opinions
and views from the subject matter experts. The survey is subdivided under the heads of Quad and Indian Maritime Interests, Potential of Indian Space Technology as a Smart Power, IPMSTC - scope and objectives, and Challenges
