mytetours * Blog GIMP PLUGINS 6/13/2023 0 Comments If the entry is not there, then you are probably somewhat screwed unless you have, or have access to, a Photoshop 6 CD containing the Photoshop SDK. Once it loads, check the Xtns menu for a new entry: Photoshop Plug-In Settings. For me, it is ~/.gimp-2.4/plug-ins/ Test if the install worked by launching GIMP. Be sure GIMP knows about this folder in the Preferences - Folders dialog. Copy the two files pspi and to your personal GIMP plug-ins folder, NOT the system plug-ins folder. You can read the README.Linux file, but all of the information there is in this instructable sooner or later. Save the file to an accessible location, then unpack it with tar -xzvf gimp-pspi-1.0.5. This will create three files in the current directory: pspi,, and README.Linux. Download the binary package from Tor's site as of this writing, the filename is "gimp-pspi-1.0.5.". What did work from me was installing the Ubuntu binaries (you may or may not know, but Ubuntu is a Debian-based linux distribution). Linux: I tried installing from a Fedora Core package using alien to convert the RPM to a DEB but it didn't work for me. However, you can try three things: creating a Debian package from a Fedora Core package, installing the binaries for Ubuntu, or building from source. Debian users - like me - are out of luck as far as installing from a repository, as the libraries used to build pspi are not free (and therefore violate the DFSG). Windows users, and users of some linux distributions (SUSE, Ubuntu, and Fedora Core) can download the GIMP-PSPI packages at Tor Lillqvist's page (see links at the end). make backups, save frequently, and use plugins responsibly. And my standard disclaimer: if anything you do while following these instructions destroys, injures, or emotionally scars anything or anyone, that is not my fault. So, the standard disclaimer applies: YMMV, TANSTAAFL, and all that jazz. I have tested a few, some of which work perfectly, and others which don't work at all. Caveats: Not all Photoshop Plugins will work 100% with the GIMP PSPI plugin. Just get and install wine, and run winecfg to set it up. Remember, these are plugins designed for a Windows application. It's possibly even required even when the first two conditions aren't met. It may also be required for any plugin that has a dialog window. It will be required for any plugin that, under Windows, would need to be installed. Linux users must have wine (WINE Is Not an Emulator) installed for pspi to work. This tutorial does not assume you know how to use The GIMP, but it does help if you have experience with it. This tutorial assumes you have a fair knowledge of how to copy, move, and paste files in the Windows Explorer, or in Linux, whichever you favor. The Windows version is available at the GIMP's website (see links at the end). Most linux versions are available through your distribution's package management. This tutorial assumes you have installed The GIMP, and is based on versions 2.2 and 2.4 of the software. However since I do not own an OSX computer I cannot vouch for this process on that operating system. Otherwise, the processes described herein are really much the same, no matter which OS you use. Because Windows and Linux have different issues getting PS plugins to work in GIMP, I have tried to expand the areas where the OS makes a difference. GIMP can, in fact, use Photoshop Plugins with relatively little effort, with the use of the GIMP PSPI plugin from Tor Lillqvist. But we can take one thing off the list (well, sort of). GIMP may not yet be able to replace Photoshop for everything Photoshop can still do. The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free, open-source raster graphics imaging editor that is quickly becoming a strong challenger to Photoshop. Many graphics artists come to rely heavily on a set of Photoshop Plugins to do the work they do, and may recommend these plugins to other artists. Good day! Photoshop is often considered to be the best desktop raster graphics imaging editor software on the market, with zillions of features, not to mention a massive array of filters available online and from retail outlets. 0 Comments THE ITEM MIRROR FOR ROKU CANT BE MOVED TO TRASH 6/13/2023 0 Comments The YouTube app instead pauses the video and brings up their clunky playback bar and related video thumbnails. One example: on the remote you can click left or right to quickly skip back or ahead 10 seconds. So not only do they not follow the same controls as every other app, making users learn two different styles of interaction, they're worse on top of that. If they were better than Apple's, one could make an argument as to why Google should use theirs over Apple's, but they clearly aren't better. The playback controls are probably the worst thing about the app. The YouTube app's lists don't do this (compare to say, the Settings app) and thumbnails do a sort of poor man's version trying to at least mimic the effect (it didn't used to do it at all, so that's at least an improvement). When you navigate lists, app icons or video thumbnails across tvOS, the selected items sort of pop out larger a bit, hovering and animating with a subtle parallax effect to inform the user what is clearly selected (and feel fluid and responsive while doing so). The biggest issue boils down to Google trying to make one design that they apply to EVERY device, this way they don't have to have a team spend time designing the app to fit Apple's specific Human Interface Guidelines. All garments should be labelled with the approved EN ISO 20471 icon and the appropriate class number.Diadora S.p.a., company with a sole shareholder, with registered office at Via Montello no. What are the different classifications of EN ISO 20471?Ĭertification is split into 3 classes, with class 1 offering the lowest level of protection, class 2 being an intermediate level and class 3 offering the highest level. These specifications guarantee that all hi vis clothing is appropriate for the required working environments. The standard also addresses physical characteristics like tensile strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability. The garments must have a base colour that satisfies the necessary level of fluorescence, a minimum amount of reflectivity, and the proper positioning of this reflective tape in order to be certified. The contrast-covered areas are typically where dirt is more prone to accumulate. The contrast materialĭark-colored components on some hi-vis clothes are less prone to scuffing than bright fabric and reflective strips. They are necessary for folks who work nights. A light source is necessary for reflective strips to function and produce retro-reflection. These are made to improve vision in the later part of the day. This improves vision during the day and might improve visibility at night. To determine if a garment complies with EN ISO 20471 safety criteria, three important factors must be considered. What qualifies for the certification assessment? It is specifically used to evaluate "high visibility clothes that can visually convey the user's presence" and determines whether retro-reflective materials are suitable and long-lasting.Īll hi-vis clothing must continue to meet the necessary standards and any updates to the international standards for the duration of the certificates' five-year validity. The worldwide standard EN ISO 20471:2013, which is applicable in all high-risk situations, specifies the safety requirements and testing procedures for high vis workwear. The reflecting strips and fluorescent material should be designed such that the wearer is plainly seen from all sides Regulations on Hi Vis Workwear? Hi-vis clothing's primary purpose is to lower the possibility of accidents happening in these potentially hazardous circumstances by making the wearer stand out from the surroundings. Additionally, it is crucial in any low-light situation (for example working at night, or in a darker environment such as a warehouse). In all industries where work is done close to traffic, cranes, or other motorized vehicles are required to provide employees with hi vis workwear. Choose from both hi vis yellow & hi vis orange reflective jacket, sweatshirt, t-shirt, polo shirt, vest, trousers & more for total on-site safety for all seasons (summer, winter, autumn and spring). Time to revert to hardcore Thatcherism.” 'We're fed up with the Net Zero message' “On the other hand, this is a slap in the face to new Tory wokeism. Giles Hamilton: “If anyone thinks they’ll get better local services under Labour they need help and frankly deserve what they get. It doesn't matter how I vote, as we still get the same mass immigration and deliberate destruction of my values, heritage and way of life, reduced freedoms because of vocal tyrannical tiny minorities, and crushing taxes in return for sweet nothing.” 'Time to revert to hardcore Thatcherism' It is difficult to see any reason to stay with nonsense like this. It is difficult to see any reason to stay’ĭ Hill: “I'm leaving the UK later in the year. “All those people who now have Labour/Lib Dem councils are going to regret it badly when their councils start implementing their woke policies.” “The Tories are getting hammered because of the government’s failings, even though the Government has very little influence over local council decisions.” "That so many people are voting out local councillors because of national politics is insane. R Q Mentative: “As much as I accept how awful this government has been, these results demonstrate that we need electoral reform to introduce some kind of competency test to be allowed to vote. “I must have missed the Conservatives' plans for mass immigration when I read their manifesto.” ‘That so many people are voting out local councillors because of national politics is insane’ Is it now the case that if we want lower immigration we need to vote Labour? “No wonder the Tories lost: to avoid a recession, they’ve imported more people in two years than Labour did in ten. ‘Local Conservative councillors paying for lunacy of the national party’Īndrew Taggart: “I see local conservative councillors paying for the lunacy of the national party. Telegraph readers flooded the comments section in reaction to the results, with many arguing it is time for the Conservatives to drastically alter their policies if they are to hold on to power. The Green Party had gained 148 councillors.ĭespite a “terrible night” for the Tories, Rishi Sunak has insisted there has not been a “massive groundswell of movement towards the Labour Party”. Sir Keir Starmer has claimed Labour is on course to win a majority at the next general election after the party made gains and the Tories suffered heavy losses at local elections across England.īy 5pm, with results declared from 180 of 230 councils, the Tories had lost 673 seats while Labour had gained 437 and the Lib Dems had gained 281. 0 Comments ALIEN INVASION 2017 HOAX 6/13/2023 0 Comments What’s more, ‘Oumuamua was unusually bright. “This would make ‘Oumuamua’s geometry more extreme by at least a few times in aspect ratio - or its width to its height - than the most extreme asteroids or comets that we have ever seen,” Loeb writes in his book. No naturally occurring space body we’ve ever seen has looked like it - or even close. Scientists concluded the object was at least five to 10 times longer than it was wide - sort of like the shape of a cigar. Its brightness varied tenfold every eight hours, suggesting that was the amount of time it took for it to complete a full rotation. Loeb soon opened his mind to another possibility: It was not a comet but discarded tech from an alien civilization.Ī number of unusual properties about the object helped Loeb make this conclusion.Īstronomers looked at the way the object reflected sunlight. “He’s seen rocks all his life, and he would have thought it was just a shiny rock.” “What would happen if a caveman saw a cellphone?” he asked. But Loeb said that assumption ran the risk of allowing “the familiar to define what we might discover.” Rob Ratkowski/PS1SCĪt first, scientists thought it was an ordinary comet. The Observatory on Haleakala, Maui, which contains the world’s most powerful telescope, caught the image of ‘Oumuamua. No crisp photos could be taken, but astronomers were able to train their telescopes on the object for 11 days, collecting reams of other data. Judging from the object’s trajectory, astronomers concluded it was not bound by the sun’s gravity - which suggested it was just traveling through. The space object was dubbed ‘Oumuamua (pronounced “oh moo ah moo ah”), which is Hawaiian for - roughly - “scout.”Īs space travelers go, it was relatively small at just about 100 yards long, but it was a big deal in the scientific community.įor starters, it was the first interstellar object ever detected inside our solar system. The object was first spotted by an observatory in Hawaii containing the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS) - the highest-definition telescope on Earth. 7, it shot past Earth’s before “moving swiftly toward the constellation Pegasus and the blackness beyond,” Loeb writes in the book. At the end of September, it blasted at about 58,900 miles per hour past Venus’ orbital distance, and then, on Oct. 9, its trajectory brought it closest to the sun. Professor Abraham Loeb and a rendering of ‘Oumuamua. The object in question traveled toward our solar system from the direction of Vega, a nearby star 25 light-years away, and intercepted our solar system’s orbital plane on Sept. 26, the professor lays out a compelling case for why an object that recently wandered into our solar system was not just another rock but actually a piece of alien technology. In his upcoming book, “ Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), out Jan. More likely, it will be an alien civilization’s trash.Īvi Loeb, chair of Harvard’s Department of Astronomy, believes he’s already found some of that garbage. When the first sign of intelligent life visits us from space, it won’t be a giant saucer hovering over New York. Thousands of space radio signals reach Earth suggesting alien contact: ‘Not just a coincidence’įlorida residents report UFO - but it was just Taylor Swift ‘opening gates of heaven’Īlien life is most likely to exist in these star systems: scientists Even President Donald Trump is a fan of the movie, as he proved when retweeting a video of his face pasted over Bill Pullman's in the famous presidential speech.Aliens could contact Earth in the near future, according to scientists People still watch the movie during every 4th of July holiday. Plus, watching the world get destroyed and then saved was like a thrilling amusement park ride at the time. Everything from the top notch special effects, diverse casting, and marketing campaign are the industry standard at the moment. Independence Day took influences from all over the place and ended up setting the standard for blockbusters, which Marvel Studios still uses to this day. It was the second highest grossing movie of all time until the following year when The Lost World took that honor. When the dust finally settled, it earned over $817 million globally, becoming the highest grossing movie of 1996, beating out Twister and Mission: Impossible. The reasoning behind this was also because the demand for the movie was so high, thanks in part to the stellar job the studio did promoting it. In some markets, Independence Day opened on July 2nd, which is when the story starts. 0 Comments DWARF FORTRESS TILESET 44 6/13/2023 0 Comments Then the next click is realizing that makes the game boring and allowing some danger by fulfilling self placed challenges.Įdit: I just bought it and played it for a bit - the updated graphics/UI are a great improvement! Obviously bit hard to judge but now there's proper icons indicating common actions (mine, cut trees), a tutorial. Same with DF, once you learn how to get your fortress rolling you can very quickly learn to build a fully defensible mega castle. I've been playing EVE for more than a year now and the combat system _still_ gives me huge revelations. The interesting part is that the click happens multiple times with challenging games. Once it clicks once, it will instantly start being fun. If you tire out, just don't play the game again for a couple days, or whenever you regain your energy. Just keep trying to do _something_.Įventually it will either click and you'll have a bunch of fun, or you'll tire out. Have the wiki open and read it any time you are confused. I've used the same "strategy" for most technically challenging games: play in long stretches, trying to make any kind of progress. The feeling of mastering a properly hard game is a good reason to try it. I've mostly just gone back to Oxygen Not Included and make do without narrative and variation that I kind of wish were there. But he also makes no bones about how frequently the game is one or two clicks away from war crimes. He fed his animals meat that the humans would not eat (namely, the flesh of dead raiders).Īnyway, I think if you want to understand Rimworld 'physics' more, that series is probably a decent starting place. He had to kite them but then real hunters of megafauna kind of do the same thing. The RNG kept throwing him meat and cold weather clothing materials. If his camp wasn't constantly attacked by giant furry creatures he would have probably been toast. Knowing what's what mean you don't mine a mineral formation until you need the material. There are materials that ding you less once processed. There are materials in your environment that ding you even if you don't gather or process them. You could just spend all your time cheesing the game, or you can cheese it when it doesn't really affect whatever narrative you are trying for in your playthrough. He talks a good bit about the math of the game, and he minmaxes his minmaxing. > starting alone, naked, as a tribal, on an ice sheet - with one leg!įrancis John on Youtube basically did this recently. Cheesey tactics like kill boxes which exploit the stupidity of the AI, and seemingly non-sensical decisions like not letting your colonists have chairs, should only be required at the highest difficulty level IMO. I think the game needs to be rebalanced somehow to make it a less frutstating experience for A.) players. Or givign your craftspeople chairs to sit on while they work. Thus if you are an A.) player you are probably accidentally signing your own death sentence by e.g building fancy bed rooms for your pawns. I can build a wodden trap corridor on day 1 which will kill the entire raid before they can even see a single of my pawns."Īlso note that RimWorld raids are scaled according to colony wealth and number of pawns in the colony. Meanwhile B.) people are like "Sure, no problem. Have you ever wondered why RimWorld likes to throw that "Imperial Deserter" quest at you right at the beginning of the game?Ī.) people will think "This is silly, how could I possibly defeat an Imperial raid right at the start?" In contrast, if you do B.) the game becomes so dead easy that you can't even impress other players anymore by starting alone, naked, as a tribal, on an ice sheet - with one leg! If do A.) the game can be incredibly frustrating as you watch the colony you spent hours carefully building go down in flames despite the fact that you seemingly did nothing wrong. The problem is that there are two ways to play RimWorld which will lead to very different results there.Ī.) You do what "makes sense" to a normal human being dealing with a real situation. RimWorld raids are actually ridiculously easy to defeat. 0 Comments MEEK MILL DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES ALBUM DOWNLOAD FREE 6/13/2023 0 Comments This cookie is set by GDPR Cookie Consent plugin. Its likely that it will be almost impossible to get your AR to cycle reliably at all with subsonic loads unless you build the gun for that purpose. I have to ask why you want a subsonic 223 round though as you are turning your center fire rifle into a. However, if they were even remotely close the rest, the spread and SD wouldn't have changed much - and no guarantee it would have worsened.First, welcome to the world of suppressors. Note: I did have 2 rounds not read by the chrony in batch 1. While I find it a bit odd, and worth more testing to confirm, that the absence of the cotton filler would cause higher velocities (due to slower burn and higher pressure possibly) I do think this is significant enough data at the moment to validate the use of a filler in the case and to counter any argument that says Trail Boss is a non-positional sensitive sure appears to be VERY sensitive at this point. Notes 1: Sierra 0.224 HPBT MatchK 1380 69 0ĭescription: 4.6gr Trail Boss - no cottonĪs you can see, the standard deviation on Batch 1 (with the cotton) was a fairly outstanding 19.5 with a spread of 62 while the standard deviation on Batch 2 was a fairly terrible 93.4 with a horrific spread of 275. I wanted to look further into the differences between using and not using a cotton filler.īatch 1 was using a 69gr Sierra Match King #1380 with 4.6 grains of Trail Boss and cotton fillerīatch 2 was using a 69gr Sierra Match King #1380 with 4.6 grains of Trail Boss and NO cotton filler I have not yet tested my grouping at 50 and 100 yards with this recipe as I am waiting for new scope rings. I feel this is a very useful load to have and I'd be very interested in seeing what others came up with in regards to. In a true SHTF scenario, this could be a life saver if you need to kill your food silently without alerting those zombies around you as to your location. With proper shot placement (all shots should be properly placed) you CAN take down deer sized game out to 100 yards with this round. Remember, this is a 55 grain projectile at 1005 FT/s delivering 123 ft-lbs of energy. 223 that can be whisper quite and still take down game out to 100 yards. This will keep the 3.8 grains of powder over the primer hole ensuring full ignition of the powder when the primer is struck.Ĭouldn't get a great photo, but the cotton should fully cover the primer and be significantly lower than the bullet base when seated.Īfter seating and crimping the bullet in the normal fashion, take a black sharpie and color the tip of the round black so you don't get them confused with your super-sonic ammunition. Using your punch tool, gently push the wispy cotton into the case. Stretch out the cotton so that it looks like a bad Halloween spider web - very wispy and airy. 22lr round at 1000 FT/s is 88.8 ft-lbs)Īfter charging your primed case with the 3.8 grains of powder, rip off a tiny piece of cotton from a cotton ball - (quarter shown for size comparison.) This gives me 1005 FT/s at 123 ft-lbs of energy. The cases were trimmed to 1.743" and the Over All Length (with seated bullet) is 2.220" using a Speer 55 grain HPBT projectile.ģ.8 grains of the IMR Trail Boss powder is what I fine tuned. This was tested and dialed in on an AR-15, 16" barrel, 1:8 twist, mid-length gas system, with a YHM Phantom Suppressor. 308 ammo.Įveryone's weapon is different so don't use this recipe and expect the exact same results. It's primary design is for Cowboy Action type firearms - but it's large signature and fast burn rate make it an exceptional choice for creating subsonic. 223 ammo:Įverything needed to create a subsonic 55 grain round that will deliver 128 ft/lb energy at 1000 FT/sīullets, casings, scale, sharpie, cotton balls, punch tool, Trail Boss powderĪs you can see, the Trail Boss powder is seriously huge. Here is a general step-by-step on making subsonic. So, after another full day of experimenting, I've landed with the best recipe I can make for a 55 grain round and my weapon platform. I've been tinkering over the past few weeks trying to use different powders and loads to create the perfect (for me) subsonic. 0 Comments <<Previous AUTHOR Write something about yourself.
