STUDY

The Status of Oklahoma Animals

In April 2013, Kirkpatrick Foundation began a broad research study on the status
of Oklahoma animals. Independent researcher Kristy Wicker, M.S., interviewed
stakeholders in the animal wellbeing community and gathered data on companion
animals, exotics, livestock, equine, laboratory animals, and wildlife in
Oklahoma through July 2014. The study was outlined at the ANIMAL conference,
edited throughout 2015, and made available to the general public in February
2016. Wicker made several presentations of the study to Rotary Clubs throughout
the Oklahoma City area throughout 2016. Also in June 2016, Manda Shank and
Louisa McCune presented the study at the biannual meeting for the National Link
Coalition held during the National Sheriffs' Association conference. Contact
Kirkpatrick Foundation for a free copy of the study.
