KYLE CHARBONNEAU COMMITS TO ANNA MARIA COLLEGE

Brewster, NY - The New York Apple Core is happy to announce that defensemen Kyle
Charbonneau has committed to Anna Maria College for Fall 2023. It was our goal
to help Kyle reach his dream of playing NCAA hockey and the MA native will do
just that for the Amcats! Charbonneau came to us through the EHLP so it was good
to see him progress this season and become a full-timer at the EHL level.

Head Coach & GM Lenny Cagliannone had this to say about the '02
Massachusetts-born blue liner.  "Kyle has progressed and developed at a
tremendous rate. He’s done a great job providing a considerable amount of depth
to our Blue line. His maturity and approach to the game are reflected in his
commitment to Anna Maria. Congratulations Kyle!"

Kyle had this following statement on his time with the "Apple Core. My time at
the Apple Core this season has been something special. I couldn’t ask for a
better group of guys to be with day in and day out. I want to thank my family,
teammates, and coaches for all the help to get to where I am today. I can't wait
to get started next fall. Let’s go Amcats!"

The New York Apple Core is happy for Kyle and his family to reach this
accomplishment, good luck Kyle!

NEW YORK APPLE CORE & DANBURY JR HAT TRICKS ANNOUNCE AFFILIATION

BREWSTER, NY - The New York Apple Core is happy to announce that we now are
affiliated with the Danbury Hat Tricks in the North American Hockey League. We
are excited to enhance our footprint by establishing a development ladder to
further grow our player pool. Players with the potential to reach that level
will be given every opportunity to do so. The Apple Core will be going into its
second year of a rebuild under Lenny Cagliannone, and making this affiliation
was a goal of his when he came to Apple Core this past summer. Coach Cagliannone
comes with vast knowledge of the NAHL as he was a part of the New Jersey Titans
organization in 2022 when they won the Robertson Cup.

Director of Player Personnel Bob Thornton & Director of Scouting Eric Conway of
the Danbury Hat Tricks will be working closely with our staff and players to
enhance the growth of both organizations. Both have had major successes with the
Westchester Express 18U, 16U, & 15U teams and have helped players move up to the
next level and make NCAA commitments.

30TH ANNIVERSARY OF APPLE CORE

Brewster, NY - The New York Apple Core is happy to announce that we are
celebrating 30 years of junior hockey. The Apple Core was founded in 1992 by Bob
Santini who was always a presence in the hockey community. Head Apple Bob has
always been involved in the hockey community and was even the founder of The New
York Catholic High School League which also celebrated an anniversary this year
marking its 50th. The Apple Core has been involved in many leagues from the day
we debuted as an organization to the present day with the same goal in mind to
push players to the next level in their hockey careers.

As we look back on thirty years we would like to share our appreciation and
gratitude for all players, staff members, and league administrators that we have
met and worked with over the years. We also would like to notice all of our
successes starting off with our early success in winning the two National Jr. B
Championships in 1996, & 2010 and The EJHL Triple Crown in 2003. To top that,
the Apple Core would also recognize all our alumni as they played a huge part in
making a name for the Apple Core as one of the top junior programs on the east
coast and at the tier III level. It’s safe to say the Apple Core name is known
throughout the hockey world since our debut at Long Beach Arena to our current
home at Brewster Ice Arena.

Apple Core has serviced the local player pool for years and has been proactive
in developing new ideas for player development. The Apple Core MET, which plays
in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, has molded many players for the EHL.
Many of our heroes started on the MET team as young players. They benefited from
the excellent instruction and practices which are provided. Many of those
players have moved up through the ranks also. The two-team approach has been
very successful and has put LI players on the map.

With our 30th Anniversary, we are happy to unveil our 30th Anniversary logo and
our third/alternate jersey, sponsored by RCJ Welding a local business. RCJ
Welding is a local vendor out of Carmel, NY. We wanted to look back on the years
for our 30th Anniversary jersey so we went the throwback route and we believe we
did our organization justice by doing so! The green jersey with our red pants
really looks clean on the ice. We are excited to also announce we will have more
jersey changes to come this upcoming season.

EHL Forward of The Year winner Colin Callanan has committed to SUNY Plattsburgh
for Fall 2022. The long awaited commitment has been keeping the organization at
the edge of our seats. Callanan had 115 points through his two seasons with the
Core notching 42 goals and 73 assists in 72 games played. The Stony Point, NY
native was also named First Team All-Star and appeared in both the All-Star
College Series and All-Star Classic as a member of the Gray All-Stars. Callanan
is also our current leader in goals and assists since the Core joined the EHL.

Interim Head Coach Joe Wegwerth “On behalf of the entire Apple Core family we
are extremely proud of the Forward of The Year Colin Callanan. His dedication to
his teammates and his craft has set him up for long term success. We
congratulate Cally and his family on his commitment to follow along this journey
and move on to NCAA hockey.”

Team Manager Justin Horacio had this to say about Callanan. “Colin is a very
special player watching him develop over the last two seasons into the player
and person he is today has been great. Cally was always an offensive threat and
a player to look out for on the ice. By using his speed and hockey senses he was
always able to create plays on the rush or in the zone. Watching Cally battle
through tough times this season was inspirational. With his father John in a
coma for most the season due to covid complications, Colin came to the rink
every day ready to get to work. We are beyond happy for Colin and his family on
his commitment to Plattsburgh and happy to see his father continue to get
healthy. #callananstrong”

The Stony Point, NY native had this to say on his commitment. “My two years at
Apple Core was a hell of a ride and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of
guys in both my years. I would like to give a huge thanks to my coaches and
teammates for helping me succeed to this point. Playing at Apple Core was a
great fit for me as I was able to live at home and be with my family throughout
our tough times. I couldn’t thank the Apple Core enough for all their love and
support the whole way. I’d like to shout out our team manager/ social media guy,
Justin Horacio who made a huge impact on the core organization and was a guy who
went above and beyond to help the boys be successful. I would also like to thank
my family for all the support throughout the years. Without them behind me I
wouldn’t be where I am today. The fall can’t come soon enough as I am eager to
get to work at the NCAA level for the Cardinals and rally behind Cardinals
country!”

hockey career. I feel like the resources the organization provided really helped

work in achieve their goals. As a defenseman, having Coach Grogan breakdown
film, and teach us the game from a former goalies perspective has been
invaluable, and led me to see the game from a whole new perspective. What made
my time with New York the most memorable was the core group of players, and how
proud I am of how we came together as a group at the end of the year, despite
coming up short in the end. I’ll forever cherish my time in New York, and feel
it was instrumental in shaping me into the player I am today."
