* Home Select Page * Home ASTER FAMILY SUPPORT Assist, Support, Teach, Empower, Resource WELCOME TO ASTER FAMILY SUPPORT Aster Family Support works to increase a family’s capacity for self-sufficiency by building on strengths, enhancing life skills and strengthening community linkages. Supports are generally provided to families in their own homes and communities. The primary focus is on early intervention aiming to promote and protect the health, wellbeing and rights of all children, young people and their families, paying particular attention to those who are at risk. OUR MISSION Aster Family Support aims to nurture children, their parents or guardians by working with them to increase their capacity for day to day living and by building trust with them to support them to be healthy and to stay together. WHAT WE DO FAMILY SUPPORT Family Support works to increase a family’s capacity for self-sufficiency by building on strengths, enhancing life skills and strengthening community linkages. Supports are generally provided to families in their own homes and communities. Learn More HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANCE Household assistance helps with the planning and management of household challenges like budgeting, housing issues, social welfare applications, managing bills, and signposting to other services. Learn More MEITHEAL The Meitheal model focuses on identifying a child or family’s needs and strengths, and brings together a team of service practitioners to collaborate on providing the support that they need. Learn More TRIPLE P Triple P is a positive parenting programme that is a flexible, practical way to develop skills, strategies and confidence to handle any parenting situation. We run small group and home-based sessions to suit families’ needs. Learn More FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE The aim of the National Family Resource Centre programme is to combat disadvantage and improve the functioning of the family unit. Learn More Aster Family Support is funded by Tusla, Child and Family Agency. WHO WE ARE Aster Family Support is a strengths-based community organisation, and we focus on building supportive relationships, facilitating growth and respecting diversity. Annually we work with over 150 families through our Family Support, Meitheal, Household Assistance, and Triple P services.
