FAQ’s HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR SERVICES? HOW IS AN MRI PERFORMED? At your appointment, you will be asked to change into a gown and remove any metal objects from your body. You lie on a table that slides into a tube-shaped scanner. This is different for our open scanner where you will not have the tube around you. The scan will be performed, you stay still and may hear tapping or beeping noises. This is completely normal. Your MRI scan will last between 15 and 90 minutes depending on the size and number of areas to be scanned. HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN MRI SCAN? On the day of your MRI scan you should be able to eat, drink and take any medication as usual, unless you’re advised otherwise. You may be asked not to eat or drink anything for up to 4 hours before the scan or perhaps be asked to drink a fairly large amount of water beforehand. This depends on the area on the body that you are being scanned. HOW DO I REQUEST MY REPORT FOR MY MRI? Once the MRI scan report is completed, our system automatically and immediately delivers the report to the referrer. Your medical practitioner will contact you to discuss the results. Reports will be emailed to self-pay patients, who will then be able to discuss their results with their GP/Healthcare professional. HOW CAN I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MODALITY?
