PASSIONATE ABOUT COSMOS, DRIVEN BY CURIOSITY

“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
— William Blake, “Auguries of Innocence”

ABOUT ME

Yooo! I’m Bhumik — your friendly neighborhood physics enthusiast with an
incurable case of curiosity. While most kids were busy playing video games, I
was busy counting stars and wondering if black holes have feelings.

I’m on a mission to prove that physics isn’t just about boring equations; it’s
actually the coolest way to explore the universe (and maybe even bend the rules
a bit). I’m fascinated by things like the black hole quantum information paradox
— a fancy way of saying, “I love thinking about stuff that makes most people’s
brains hurt.”

When I’m not lost in my cosmogyral thoughts, you can find me trying to strum a
guitar, clicking photos, writing poetry that nobody asked for, or losing at
chess (but winning at life).

If you’re into space, creativity, or just want to chat about the cosmos over
coffee, I’m your person!

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

STARGAZING

Stargazing is my window into the universe’s mysteries. Having conversations with
the constellations offers me moments of self-reflection and wonder. It’s about
appreciating the night sky, understanding our place in the universe, and fueling
my passion for space.

YOGA

Being a certified yoga instructor, I find joy in guiding others towards physical
well-being and mental clarity. Teaching lets me practice myself and share that
balance with others, whether it’s calming a chaotic day or simply getting people
to breathe a little deeper. It’s not about perfect form; it’s about finding your
own flow, one breath at a time.

GUITAR

Strumming my way through life’s playlist (sounds fancy, ayy!) For someone who’s
been playing guitar since 8 months, I’d say I’ve picked up some pretty decent
skills.

POETRY

Crafting verses that range from deep to delightfully obscure. My poetry is like
pizza: even when it’s not great, it’s still pretty good. It’s my way of turning
emotions into art, with a dash of whimsy. I’m working on publishing a collection
of 20 poems. Feel free to read them and provide feedback :)

CHESS

Chess teaches so much about life — accountability, predicting opponents’ moves,
critical thinking, and best use of your resources. With 1700 ELO on Chess.com
and being best in school, my strategy involves deep thinking and the occasional
‘oops’ move.

BASKETBALL

Trying to score points and occasionally looking graceful doing it. As a
state-level player, I’m always pushing my limits on the court. When I’m not
perfecting my handles, I’m dreaming of the day I’ll finally nail that dunk.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Turning the world into a gallery, one click at a time. My iPhone and I have a
pact: it captures the beauty of life while I try not to look too awkward in
front of it. Each photo is a snapshot of a fleeting moment that I hope someone
else finds as magical as I do.

COFFEE ENTHU

I. Love. Coffee. It is my daily ritual and the sole source of power for
surviving through research, the gym, projects, and my creative outlets. (My fav
is Ethiopian pour-over.)

TREKKING

Trekking is my escape from the daily grind, a chance to reconnect with nature
and myself. I felt the deepest connection during the Rupin Pass trek, 16,000 ft
above sea level. Up there, it’s not just a trek — it’s a form of meditation.

Cooking

If you can imagine it, you can put it on a plate. I taught myself to cook by
experimenting with recipes (mostly to satisfy my midnight cravings). And now
it’s a fun way to get creative and enjoy new flavors.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Community service isn’t just something I do — it’s a part of who I am. I’ve
learned that real change happens when we lead with purpose and act with heart.
Whether it’s teaching, cleaning up, or lending a hand where it’s needed most,
each project is a chance to connect, learn, and make a small but meaningful
impact. These experiences have taught me the value of empathy, action, and the
simple joy of helping others. Here’s a look at some of the projects close to my
heart.

60+ HOURS

of teaching yoga at an old age home

20+ HOURS

of volunteering at school’s farm

35+ HOURS

₹40,000+

12

DONATION DRIVES

6

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DRIVES

Performed a nukkad natak (street play) addressing rape, consent, and women’s
rights in front of an audience of

OVER 1200 PEOPLE.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON

ML MODEL

Introducing the “B-Square,” my ambitious ML model in its building stage. Think
of it as Sherlock Holmes but for space. It’s trained to spot galaxies, planets,
and space oddities from images with its high-tech neural magnifying glass. Armed
with the vision of VGG16 and a bit of human ingenuity, it’s learning to tell a
black hole from a bowl of spaghetti (still working on that part).

RESEARCH

I’m currently knee-deep in a literature review on Space Plasma Processes — think
of it as reading a soup recipe but with a lot more math and way fewer tasty
outcomes. My mission? To make sense of how plasma behaves in space. It’s like
trying to gossip about the universe’s hottest drama with way too many scientific
articles in the mix.
