FAQS

I’m returning from international travel, what test do I need?

If you are travelling from a GREEN list country, you will need to take a single
Day 2 test on or before Day 2 of your arrival to the UK. For arrivals from AMBER
list countries, you are required to take a mandatory Day 2 test on Day 2 of your
arrival to the UK and also a mandatory test on Day 8 of your arrival to the UK.
For People travelling from an AMBER list country, there is also the option of
taking an early Test to Release PCR test on Day 5 of your arrival to the UK in
order to end quarantine early if you receive a negative result. You are still
required to take the Day 8 test regardless of whether you have taken a Test to
Release.

I need a negative Fit to Fly PCR test within a specified time frame?

We advise that you book your test as early as possible, to ensure you receive
your results within your required time frame, If in doubt please get in touch
with our team.

What is a Day 5 Test to Release?

This is a test that can be taken on day 5 of isolation following return from
international travel, for the detection of Coronavirus. The test is optional and
can be taken after the 5th day of arrival to reduce the period of isolation.
This may shorten your isolation but it does not over ride the mandatory day 8
test.

What is a Locator Reference Number?

A Locator Reference Number is a unique reference number given by your test
provider. This starts with 5 letters and is followed by 7 numbers. This number
is required to enter the UK and you will need to use this number to fill in the
passenger locator form prior to travel.

Do I need to provide all of my travel information on the website?

Yes, it is a legal requirement for us to gather all of your travellers
information prior to issuing PCR testing kits. This is because we have to send
this information to Public Health England on a daily basis.

When will I receive my test results?

We aim to send results within the following allotted time frames;
Fit to Fly – 24 hours
Test to Release – 24 hours
Day 2 – 72 hours
Day 8 – 48 hours

‍If you have ordered a Test to Release or Fit to Fly test, your results will be
send directly from the laboratory BIOGRAD to the email you provided.

If you have ordered a Day 2 or Day 8 Test, you will receive your results
directly to your email from our team here at Expert COVID testing.

Please check your junk mail also. We do not take responsibility for any delays
in results from the laboratory.

Can I get a refund?

Home test kits are considered personal items therefore are non-refundable once
purchased. Expert Covid Testing will also not be responsible for any damaged or
lost tests through the postal service athlough we are happy to provide
replacements where necessary.

When do I need to book my Day 2 & Day 8 Mandatory Test?

It is a requirement for these tests to be booked in advance of your arrival in
the UK

What is Covid PCR Testing?

COVID-19 PCR Testing is now an official requirement for international travel or
operations in many work environments. PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction,
which allows our labs to amplify a smaller sample size to a large enough copy to
be analysed efficiently. This specific testing method is the reason that
COVID-19 PCR Testing is the primary method of screening

Fit to Fly Testing

The fit to fly Certificate is a letter of approval from an Accredited Healthcare
Organisation, which is now a requirement prior to travel for the majority of
airlines and destinations. Typically, airlines require evidence of a negative
COVID-19 test result 72 hours prior to the flight and will not allow you to
board without this.

Can I get a certificate without a test?

No. Our labs will only issue a certificate once the PCR test has been returned
and analysed accordingly.

How does the COVID-19 testing process work?

We offer a postal unsupervised home testing service. Once you have purchased
your test kits on our website, (if ordered before 1pm) you will receive them the
next working day via DHL. When the kits have been completed, you will need to
post it in the nearest Royal Mail Priority Box or at your local post office. The
tests are then couriered to the laboratory for analysis via Royal Mail 24 hour
tracked service. Please keep a note of your tracking number for reference. You
will receive your results via email within the allotted time frames;
Fit to Fly – 24 hours
Test to Release – 24 hours
Day 2 – 72 hours
Day 8 – 48 hours

Where can I find my Locator Reference Number?

Your Locator Reference Number can be found on your email confirmation receipt
you receive after purchase. If you think you have not received this email,
please check your junk mail.

When Will I Receive My Test?

We aim to ensure all orders are delivered the next working day. However, we can
only guarantee next working day delivery on orders purchased before 1pm. Please
be aware there is no postal service at weekends and bank holidays. Any orders
placed after 1pm Friday or over the weekend or bank holiday will be dispatched
the next working day.

What do my results mean?

Positive: You are infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Please ensure you
immediately follow Government guidance and isolate yourself, along with the rest
of your household.

Negative: You are not infected with the virus, but please continue to take
sensible precautions.

Inconclusive: Typically a borderline positive/negative result, so you require
retesting to achieve an accurate result.

Invalid: Occurs in 1-3% of samples. Typically, but not always, arises when
insufficient human material is present on the swab sample.

How Do I Return My Test To The Lab?

All of our tests come complete with a pre-paid returns envelope, simply package
your test accordingly and drop it off at a Royal Mail priority post box, find
your nearest post box here
