If you are travelling from a GREEN list country, you will need to take a single Day 2 test on or before Day 2 of your arrival to the UK. For arrivals from AMBER list countries, you are required to take a mandatory Day 2 test on Day 2 of your arrival to the UK and also a mandatory test on Day 8 of your arrival to the UK. For People travelling from an AMBER list country, there is also the option of taking an early Test to Release PCR test on Day 5 of your arrival to the UK in order to end quarantine early if you receive a negative result. You are still required to take the Day 8 test regardless of whether you have taken a Test to Release. I need a negative Fit to Fly PCR test within a specified time frame? We advise that you book your test as early as possible, to ensure you receive your results within your required time frame, If in doubt please get in touch with our team. What is a Day 5 Test to Release? This is a test that can be taken on day 5 of isolation following return from international travel, for the detection of Coronavirus. The test is optional and can be taken after the 5th day of arrival to reduce the period of isolation. This may shorten your isolation but it does not over ride the mandatory day 8 test. What is a Locator Reference Number? A Locator Reference Number is a unique reference number given by your test provider. This starts with 5 letters and is followed by 7 numbers. This number is required to enter the UK and you will need to use this number to fill in the passenger locator form prior to travel. Do I need to provide all of my travel information on the website? Yes, it is a legal requirement for us to gather all of your travellers information prior to issuing PCR testing kits. This is because we have to send this information to Public Health England on a daily basis. When will I receive my test results? We aim to send results within the following allotted time frames; Fit to Fly – 24 hours Test to Release – 24 hours Day 2 – 72 hours Day 8 – 48 hours If you have ordered a Test to Release or Fit to Fly test, your results will be send directly from the laboratory BIOGRAD to the email you provided. If you have ordered a Day 2 or Day 8 Test, you will receive your results directly to your email from our team here at Expert COVID testing. Please check your junk mail also. We do not take responsibility for any delays in results from the laboratory. Can I get a refund? Home test kits are considered personal items therefore are non-refundable once purchased. Expert Covid Testing will also not be responsible for any damaged or lost tests through the postal service athlough we are happy to provide replacements where necessary. When do I need to book my Day 2 & Day 8 Mandatory Test? It is a requirement for these tests to be booked in advance of your arrival in the UK What is Covid PCR Testing? COVID-19 PCR Testing is now an official requirement for international travel or operations in many work environments. PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction, which allows our labs to amplify a smaller sample size to a large enough copy to be analysed efficiently. This specific testing method is the reason that COVID-19 PCR Testing is the primary method of screening Fit to Fly Testing The fit to fly Certificate is a letter of approval from an Accredited Healthcare Organisation, which is now a requirement prior to travel for the majority of airlines and destinations. Typically, airlines require evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result 72 hours prior to the flight and will not allow you to board without this. Can I get a certificate without a test? No. Our labs will only issue a certificate once the PCR test has been returned and analysed accordingly. How does the COVID-19 testing process work? We offer a postal unsupervised home testing service. Once you have purchased your test kits on our website, (if ordered before 1pm) you will receive them the next working day via DHL. When the kits have been completed, you will need to post it in the nearest Royal Mail Priority Box or at your local post office. The tests are then couriered to the laboratory for analysis via Royal Mail 24 hour tracked service. Please keep a note of your tracking number for reference. Your Locator Reference Number can be found on your email confirmation receipt you receive after purchase. If you think you have not received this email, please check your junk mail. When Will I Receive My Test? We aim to ensure all orders are delivered the next working day. However, we can only guarantee next working day delivery on orders purchased before 1pm. Please be aware there is no postal service at weekends and bank holidays. Any orders placed after 1pm Friday or over the weekend or bank holiday will be dispatched the next working day. What do my results mean? Positive: You are infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Please ensure you immediately follow Government guidance and isolate yourself, along with the rest of your household. Negative: You are not infected with the virus, but please continue to take sensible precautions. Inconclusive: Typically a borderline positive/negative result, so you require retesting to achieve an accurate result. Invalid: Occurs in 1-3% of samples. Typically, but not always, arises when insufficient human material is present on the swab sample. How Do I Return My Test To The Lab?
