HOW DOES AN OUTDOOR ADVENTURE RECOVERY PROGRAM
WORK FOR DRUG TREATMENT SERVICES?

Outdoor Adventure Recovery combines residential 12-step treatment programming
with experiential outdoor adventures to treat individuals with drug and alcohol
addiction and lead them through rehab and recovery treatment into long-term
sober living. The program is highlighted by spending time in the beautiful
serene wilderness and nature where individuals are physically challenged, their
minds are cleared and they learn ways to defeat old addictive thinking patterns
through various outdoor adventures.

Through these outdoor experiences, individuals have an opportunity for
adventures that are emotionally and physically safe, and also fun and
stimulating. In the Outdoor Adventure Recovery program, you will find a renewed
sense of self and feeling of empowerment to be your best. This inherently leads
to elevated self-confidence and improved life skills.



There is a distinct difference between Outdoor Adventure Recovery and typical
drug treatment or addiction recovery treatment programs.  With Outdoor Adventure
Recovery, specific outdoor adventures are planned and structured to take the
individual outside of their old patterns and known comfort zone into a new a
physical experience with other individuals in the group. It combines fun outdoor
adventures, such as white water rafting, back packing, mountain bike riding,
surfing, snow skiing, etc. with group therapy and the opportunity to learn a new
way of living.

DOES OUR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE RECOVERY PROGRAM WORK?

At Back 2 Basics Sober Living we have found over the years that Outdoor
Adventure Recovery is a very effective program when combined with long-term
residential programming centered around the proven 12-steps treatment program
for alcohol abuse and drug addiction.

The residential component is truly about going back to the basics and practicing
simple life skills. Residential life provides addicts the opportunity to
participate in individual and group counseling supported through 12-step
meetings.

Our unique approach of Outdoor Adventure Recovery combined with a structured
six-month Residential Life program and counseling, provides individuals with the
time and space to get comfortable in their own sobriety and practice living in
recovery.  This leads to more confidence with individuals making healthy life
decisions, building healthy friendships and learning how to step out of their
comfort zone and face fears while having the support necessary to stay on the
road to long-term recovery.

Back 2 Basics Sober Living offers Outdoor Adventure Recovery through a six-month
residential program for substance abuse and alcohol treatment. Our program is
specifically designed for young adult males 18-30 years of age and is a “private
pay” or accepts Insurance program. Back 2 Basics uniquely combines the 12-Step
Program, Outdoor Adventure Recovery and Residential Living Program to provide
the best possible treatment to achieve long-term sobriety.
