OIL TERMINAL

An oil depot (sometimes called a tank farm, installation or oil terminal) is an
industrial facility for the storage of oil and/or petrochemical products and
from which these products are usually transported to end users or further
storage facilities. An oil depot typically has tankage, either above ground or
underground, and gantries (framework) for the discharge of products into road
tankers or other vehicles (such as barges) or pipelines.

Oil depots are usually situated close to oil refineries or in locations where
marine tankers containing products can discharge their cargo. Some depots are
attached to pipelines from which they draw their supplies and depots can also be
fed by rail, by barge and by road tanker (sometimes known as "bridging").

Most oil depots have road tankers operating from their grounds and these
vehicles transport products to petrol stations or other users.

An oil depot is a comparatively unsophisticated facility in that (in most cases)
there is no processing or other transformation on site. The products which reach
the depot (from a refinery) are in their final form suitable for delivery to
customers. In some cases additives may be injected into products in tanks, but
there is usually no manufacturing plant on site. Modern depots comprise the same
types of tankage, pipelines and gantries as those in the past and although there
is a greater degree of automation on site, there have been few significant
changes in depot operational activities over time.

Turkey (i/ˈtɜːrki/; Turkish: Türkiye [ˈtyɾcije]), officially the Republic of
Turkey (Turkish:  Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ), is a parliamentary republic in Eurasia,
largely located in Western Asia, with the smaller portion of Eastern Thrace in
Southeast Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Syria and Iraq to the
south; Iran, Armenia, and the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the east;
Georgia to the northeast; Bulgaria to the northwest; and Greece to the west. The
Black Sea is to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and the Aegean
Sea to the west. The Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles (which
together form the Turkish Straits) demarcate the boundary between Thrace and
Anatolia; they also separate Europe and Asia. Turkey's location at the
crossroads of Europe and Asia makes it a country of significant geostrategic
importance.

Turkey has been inhabited since the paleolithic age, including various ancient
Anatolian civilizations, Aeolian, Dorian and Ionian Greeks, Thracians,
Armenians, and Assyrians. After Alexander the Great's conquest, the area was
Hellenized, a process which continued under the Roman Empire and its transition
into the Byzantine Empire. The Seljuk Turks began migrating into the area in the
11th century, starting the process of Turkification, which was greatly
accelerated by the Seljuk victory over the Byzantines at the Battle of Manzikert
in 1071. The Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm ruled Anatolia until the Mongol invasion in
1243, upon which it disintegrated into several small Turkish beyliks.

TURKEY (BIRD)



The turkey is a large bird in the genus Meleagris, which is native to the
Americas. One species, Meleagris gallopavo (commonly known as the domestic
turkey or wild turkey), is native to the forests of North America, mainly Mexico
and the United States. The other living species is Meleagris ocellata or the
ocellated turkey, native to the forests of the Yucatán Peninsula. Males of both
turkey species have a distinctive fleshy wattle or protuberance that hangs from
the top of the beak (called a snood). They are among the largest birds in their
ranges. As in many galliformes, the male is larger and much more colorful than
the female.


TAXONOMY

Turkeys are classed in the family of Phasianidae (pheasants, partridges,
francolins, junglefowl, grouse and relatives) in the taxonomic order of
Galliformes. The genus Meleagris is the only genus in the subfamily
Meleagridinae, formerly known as the family Meleagrididae, but now subsumed
within the family Phasianidae.


HISTORY AND NAMING

When Europeans first encountered turkeys in America, they incorrectly identified
the birds as a type of guineafowl – i.e., as members of a group of birds which
were thought to typically come from the country of Turkey. The name of the North
American bird thus became "turkey fowl", which was then shortened to just
"turkey". In 1550, the English navigator William Strickland, who had introduced
the turkey into England, was granted a coat of arms including a "turkey-cock in
his pride proper".

TURKISH WINE

Turkish wine is wine made in the transcontinental Eurasian country Turkey. The
Caucasus region, where Georgia and Iran are located, played a pivotal role in
the early history of wine and is likely to have been one of the earliest
wine-producing regions of the world.

Ampelographers estimate that Turkey is home to between 600–1200 indigenous
varieties of Vitis vinifera (the European grapevine), though less than 60 of
these are grown commercially. With over 1,500,000 acres (6,100 km2) planted
under vine, Turkey is the world's fourth-leading producer of grapes.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey's first president, established the country's first
commercial winery in 1925. According to the OIV, the total wine production in
2005 was 287,000 hl. In the first half of 2009, wine consumption in Turkey
reached 20,906,762 litres.

nation for the new phase that we officially opened today, which has made our
Silivri Natural Gas Storage Facility the largest gas storage facility in the
seas in Europe." Türkiye's Silivri Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility
resumed with increased capacity on Friday. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez attended the opening ceremony
of the facility. The storage capacity of 3.2 billion cubic meters increased to
4.6 billion cubic meters and the daily production capacity of 28 million cubic
meters rose to 75 million cubic meters. 'With the capacity addition, the
facility holds the title of Europe's largest storage facility in the seas,' he
added. 'The facility, which will meet all of its electricity needs with a wind
turbine with an installed power of 4.2 megawatts, also stands out as the first
facility in Türkiye to receive a carbon footprint certificate,' Donmez added.
The facility is expected to meet 25% of Türkiye's daily gas needs during intense

Turkey there exist surface storage in form of tanks and underground gas storage.
However, underground gas storage provides significantly large volume and meets
various strategic requirements and delivery rates. At present Turkey does not
have significant underground gas storage volumes comparable to other countries,
despite the presence of suitable geology of both salt cavern and depleted field
storage. One of the depleted underground gas storage of Turkey is the
Degirmenkoy field. The Degirmenkoy is one of the two reservoirs of Silivri
underground natural gas storage facility. The field is located in the Thrace
region of Turkey. It is an onshore gas field located 16 km northern-west of the
Northern Marmara field. The feasibility of creating gas storage in the
Degirmenkoy field was examined based on process design, geologic factors, and

fa­cil­i­ty in the seas in Eu­rope." Türkiye's Silivri Un­der­ground Nat­u­ral
Gas Stor­age Fa­cil­i­ty re­sumed with in­creased ca­pac­i­ty on Fri­day.
Pres­i­dent Recep Tayyip Er­do­gan and En­er­gy and Nat­u­ral Re­sources
Min­is­ter Fatih Don­mez at­tend­ed the open­ing cer­e­mo­ny of the fa­cil­i­ty.
The stor­age ca­pac­i­ty of 3.2 bil­lion cubic me­ters in­creased to 4.6
bil­lion cubic me­ters and the daily pro­duc­tion ca­pac­i­ty of 28 mil­lion
cubic me­ters rose to 75 mil­lion cubic me­ters. 'With the ca­pac­i­ty
ad­di­tion, the fa­cil­i­ty holds the title of Eu­rope's largest stor­age
fa­cil­i­ty in the seas,' he added. 'The fa­cil­i­ty, which will meet all of its
elec­tric­i­ty needs with a wind tur­bine with an in­stalled power of 4.2
megawatts, also stands out as the first fa­cil­i­ty in Türkiye to re­ceive a
car­bon foot­print cer­tifi­cate,' Don­mez added. The fa­cil­i­ty is ex­pect­ed
to meet 25% of Türkiye's daily gas needs dur­ing in­tense win­ter days. Video

Turkey’s en­er­gy se­cu­ri­ty is close­ly re­lat­ed with the amount of gas
stored. In Turkey there exist sur­face stor­age in form of tanks and
un­der­ground gas stor­age. How­ev­er, un­der­ground gas stor­age pro­vides
sig­nif­i­cant­ly large vol­ume and meets var­i­ous strate­gic re­quire­ments
and de­liv­ery rates. At pre­sent Turkey does not have sig­nif­i­cant
un­der­ground gas stor­age vol­umes com­pa­ra­ble to other coun­tries, de­spite
the pres­ence of suit­able ge­ol­o­gy of both salt cav­ern and de­plet­ed field
stor­age. One of the de­plet­ed un­der­ground gas stor­age of Turkey is the
De­gir­menkoy field. The De­gir­menkoy is one of the two reser­voirs of Silivri
un­der­ground nat­u­ral gas stor­age fa­cil­i­ty. The field is lo­cat­ed in the
Thrace re­gion of Turkey. It is an on­shore gas field lo­cat­ed 16 km
north­ern-west of the North­ern Mar­mara field. The fea­si­bil­i­ty of
cre­at­ing gas stor­age in the De­gir­menkoy field was ex­am­ined based on
pro­cess de­sign, ge­o­log­ic fac­tors, and pre­lim­i­nary eco­nom­i­cal
anal­y­sis. In ad­di­tion, Tuz Golu Un­der­gound Nat­u­ral Gas Stor­age pro­ject
is con­sid­ered as the larg­erst stor­age pro­ject in salt for­ma­tion in the
world; after com­plet­ing the ex­pan­sion phase it will have a stor­age
ca­pac­i­ty of 5.2 bcm of nat­u­ral gas.

OIL TERMINAL

An oil depot (sometimes called a tank farm, installation or oil terminal) is an
industrial facility for the storage of oil and/or petrochemical products and
from which these products are usually transported to end users or further
storage facilities. An oil depot typically has tankage, either above ground or
underground, and gantries (framework) for the discharge of products into road
tankers or other vehicles (such as barges) or pipelines.

Oil depots are usually situated close to oil refineries or in locations where
marine tankers containing products can discharge their cargo. Some depots are
attached to pipelines from which they draw their supplies and depots can also be
fed by rail, by barge and by road tanker (sometimes known as "bridging").

Most oil depots have road tankers operating from their grounds and these
vehicles transport products to petrol stations or other users.

An oil depot is a comparatively unsophisticated facility in that (in most cases)
there is no processing or other transformation on site. The products which reach
the depot (from a refinery) are in their final form suitable for delivery to
customers. In some cases additives may be injected into products in tanks, but
there is usually no manufacturing plant on site. Modern depots comprise the same
types of tankage, pipelines and gantries as those in the past and although there
is a greater degree of automation on site, there have been few significant
changes in depot operational activities over time.
