OOPS, YOU'VE BEEN PHISHED...

Spear phishing attacks are successful because they appeal to emotional triggers
like fear, urgency, curiosity, opportunity, and recognition. Keep these tips in
mind to help spot a phish:

Tip One.

KEEP YOUR EMOTIONS IN CHECK

Whether it’s a surprising headline, a plea for help or a thank you email,
phishers frequently use emotions to compel recipients to open attachments or
click links.

Tip Two.

BE SKEPTICAL

Even if the request is marked urgent, take your time and always follow company
procedures and policies.

Tip Three.

ALWAYS VERIFY

If you know the sender, follow up with a quick phone call. Report any suspicious
emails.

Tip Four.

REPORT.

If you suspect that you have received a spear phishing email at work, follow our
procedures for reporting it immediately.
